The trip out was a whole lot easier than I thought it would be. It was really nice having my little sister Conni sharing the driving load. She starts the training this semester and I am really excited to have her here on campus now. It has been a long time since we have lived in the same location and I am especially excited to get to know her better. To me it’s crazy that you can grow up with someone and then have to get to know them all over again once you become an adult. We both have changed a lot since high school and it will be neat to see in what ways she has.
So school started back up on the 17th of August and I am really glad to be back into the swing of school and homework and class stuff. We kicked off the semester with a class on Phonemics (how to create alphabets in previously unwritten languages) which I absolutely loved. It was a very basic and introductory class which frustrated me a little bit but soon I will get all I could possibly want on the subject next semester when I take the advanced linguistic course.
I have a new roommate. His name is Todd and he is more than a couple of years older than me. I hope that some of his maturity rubs off on me over the course of the next year. We appear to have a lot in common and both really enjoy discussing various topics such as politics and theology (which are not necessarily related topics
).
Some new responsibilities have landed in my lap this year. I am a team leader for the YoungLife outreach program here in Missouri and I am also a go to guy for helping students and staff with Partnership Development websites and I will be making a new video this year that people can use in Partnership Development. It is a lot of responsibility but I am glad to have new experiences to learn from and grow through. Please be in prayer for the YoungLife outreach this year. There are so many kids that need to know the truth and there are a lot of leaders that I am responsible for and to. Pray that I can be compassionate and strong and lead by example and not out of guilt or pretense.
