About
The Puinave came in contact with the gospel over fifty years ago when a single NTM missionary lady came through their territory and urged them to take up God’s word. These animistic cannibals put away their cannibalism and began a new way of life.
As impressive as the change appeared it did not include an understanding of grace. after many years the NTM Puinave team was formed and the language and culture of these people was learned and the gospel was again preached. There has been another impressive change among the Puinave, but this time the change was spiritual and affected their life stile in a totally different way.
Today the missionary team is no longer able to live among the Puinave because of terrorist activity and government restrictions in the aria where the Puinave live. Now we must work at a distance and have those that we teach come to us. Working in a big city is not the ideal place but there is where God has us. We are working on study materials in the Puinave language and Larry and Sarah Richardson are working on translating the New Testament in Puinave. God is however speaking to the hearts of those Puinave that are helping us in this necessary part of the work
