Now that we have arrived in PNG we understand more clearly what it means to be a part of a tribal church planting team. Our ministry is not only to those missionaries working in tribal locations but also to the nationals that we live amongst.
PNG is actually divided into 5 regions and we are in the Highlands Region. The center we live in with 5-10 other families is actually this region’s main office so we will be serving this entire field – about 18 different language groups. There is also a new work starting in our area in September so we will have some missionaries moving into a tribe to begin the process of planting a church. That process can take quite some time – we have been in some areas since 1950!
We are excited to see how God will work in our lives and ministry as we serve in PNG.
