Dear Family and Friends,

Jenn and I and the boys, along with a co-worker are headed to Wisconsin late October to visit with the New Tribes Bible School there. This will be the second trip we will have done in about a month. We are excited to be able to share what we are learning about Learning Styles and Learning Difficulties/ Differences and look forward to partnering with them to help their students. Some of the students they have will later come here and go through the missionary candidate process at the MTC. We would appreciate your prayers for safety on the roads and clarity of mind as we share with them, and learn from them, about how to help the students learn better and ways the teachers can improve on their presentations in the classroom as well.

We are excited to share some more good news with you who have been tracking with Nathan’s adoption process. We were recently granted custody of Nathan by the state of Missouri and are now officially in the process of adopting him. This means that in six months, at the end of the “waiting period,” we should be finalizing the adoption! Praise the Lord! Thank you for praying with us in this process.

As always you can email us, call us at 573-317-8462 or write to: 134 Main Dr. Roach, MO 65787. We are also on Facebook.

Thank you for praying and giving and partnering with us in reaching the unreached before Jesus returns.

Following the Leader,

We are still in Camdenton, Missouri at the New Tribes Missionary Training Center. School has just begun with 61 new students enrolled with 156 total candidates in training.

The first few weeks of summer was spent with Enrichment (formerly known as Refresher Course) which is where furloughing NTM missionaries from all over the world come for approximately a week and hear how God is reaching new tribes for Himself. This time is also famous for people getting together who haven’t seen one another possibly since they went through training together or were on the mission field themselves as playmates in school. Kids also enjoy this time as there is plenty of water and sunshine to play in. The children have classes as well (like VBS) where they memorize verses and learn more about God and His Word.

Immediately following Enrichment we were a part of entertaining about 15 dear brothers and sisters from a supporting church in Virginia who were here for the better part of a week. They helped the work here by putting together a mobile temporary classroom building and landscaping the surrounding area. It was very hot during the time they were here so they beat the heat by getting up around 5:00am and quitting before noon. We so appreciate the time with them as it had been 2 years since we had been together.

Jenn decided to get diverticulitis the following Sunday after the Virginia team left and that took her out (literally in bed) for about two weeks. She was on a couple of strong antibiotics that wiped her body clean of the evil bacteria –but also took with it the good bacteria. While she will still have diverticulosis for life the doctor feels she is doing great – confirmed by a recent colonoscopy – and probably won’t need to see her about it until she is fifty years old. She has to watch out for certain foods and eat fiber, fiber, fiber!

Because the antibiotics took everything out of her body, she wasn’t left with anything to fight sickness. The result, a staph infection (which we think she’s had for quite some time). As she was on the mend from the bout with diverticulitis she got an abscess – caused by the staff infection – that needed immediate attention…and more antibiotics. Praise God the staph infection was sensitive to this antibiotic and we were careful to give her body things she needed to balance the antibiotics this time. Also we are praising the Lord that we were in Arkansas with family at the time as we were able to get help talking care of the boys and having someone for them to play with. Tim got to know his boys very well and did much of the cooking and house cleaning during the better part of three weeks to a month. I (Tim) appreciate so much what Jenn does on a regular basis. I do have to say in my defense that I am not a husband that just sits around and lets her do all the work around the house. Do I, Jenn?

We so appreciate you all as you continue to pray and give toward our ministry that we partner together with you all in reaching the unreached for the gospel. Please feel free to drop us a line whether by phone or by email and we would love to hear what is going on in your lives as well.

Dear Family & Friends,

The term, “busy,” does not even come close to describing what most of us do every day. It’s probably more like, “insane,” or “crazy.” Thanks be to God that we can stop the turn of the earth for a little while every day and read His Word. In my journey in reading through the Bible I’ve been impressed by the way God used people that were not perfect. I don’t think He ever used anyone that was perfect, except Jesus, to do what He wanted accomplished. He uses imperfect people to accomplish a perfect task. One comment that Jenn and I have made before is, “If God can use a talking donkey, then He can surely use you and me.”

Most of you know that we are still in Roach, Missouri (we like to say, CamdentonJ) at the site of the New Tribes Missionary Training Center. We are here helping those that are struggling to learn. Many of you know the term “learning disabilities.” We like to call it “learning difficulties,” or “learning differences.” In any case, we, and a few others, are helping people that can’t seem to grasp what is being taught – academically – without some help along the way. These people include staff and students, children and adults. We also try to accommodate any New Tribes missionaries that come through Missouri seeking help for their children or for themselves. We have been able to help quite a few individuals over the past two and a half years that we’ve been here. Some of the comments that we hear from people that have gone through the learning differences program are, “Huh, I’m not really dumb like I thought I was.” Or, “Oh, that’s why I think like that.” It is one of the neatest things to be there when someone finally gets the fact that God really did not make a mistake in creating any one of us. He made us all unique. He did not make us to be robots, to be all alike. Each one of us (Believers that is) plays an important part in the Body of Christ.

There are a few activities outside of our NTM ministries that we’ve taken on recently. Homeschooling has been an adventure for Jenn this year with Matthew and another little boy entering Kindergarten. Matthew has been learning all the beginning things that you do at that time in your life and it has been a real joy to see him progress in knowledge and wisdom. Each Wednesday evening Matthew has been involved in the AWANA program that takes place in one of the local churches. He has really gone after learning those verses and receiving the AWANA dollars for prizes later on. This is something that he has really enjoyed and we are very glad for him in that. Also, every other Wednesday evening Jenn spends about two hours with a group of ladies from the church that we attend in a Bible study. She has really been able to connect with several of the ladies in that group and really enjoys getting together with them. The men are looking forward to starting up a Bible study shortly. Both Jenn and I have really enjoyed getting to know several of the young families in the church.

We just recently returned from a very short but wonderful visit with family in the warm state of Florida. It had been a long time since we had gotten together for Christmas and my parents had not even met Nathan yet and he has been a part of our lives for over a year. Praise the Lord with us for His faithfulness in keeping us safe on the busy roads and for giving us a dependable car to ride in as well.

Please be in prayer with us as we seek to finalize our youngest son’s (Nathan) adoption. We would like to see this completed soon. He is almost two and talking up a storm. He loves to learn, take things apart and overall be pretty cute! Thank the Lord with us for the blessing He has given us in giving us our two boys.

We are now on Facebook as part of the New Tribes Network. We have some recent pictures of us and the boys. Come and check it out.

We are hoping each and every one of you had a Blessed Christmas Season.

Love, Tim, Jenn and the boys
