About
We arrived in Indonesia on November 15, 2007. Our official language study began the beginning of December.
Our first 18 months or so will be spent in a city on the island of Java for national language study. This will also be a time of building relationships, adjusting to culture shock, and using every opportunity to be a witness to those God puts in our path.
After completing language study, Sarah began training with language consultants here, working with new students as they begin learning the Indonesian language. We are not sure yet how God will use us in the future, but we are excited that Sarah has the chance to use this time to glean from the experience of our leadership here and train to possibly serve as a field language consultant in the future!
After we both have a good hold on the Indonesian language, our desire is to serve alongside seasoned missionaries in an existing tribal work, filling in the gaps using the gifts and abilities God has given us. We are also open to working in a support role– Shad using his broad experience in carpentry and Sarah working as a consultant. We have heard of so many needs, and we wish we didn’t have to limit ourselves to one choice!! We know God will continue to lead us to the tribe and ministry HE desires.
Of course, we cannot be sure about where we will end up… I guess that’s part of the adventure!! Please PRAY with us that God will be preparing us now for our future ministry.
