At this point one of our major responsibilities is to finish up our survey work in Elseng. Then after choosing a location to live and work in Elseng we will begin studying their language and culture. This will be an important time of relationship building and living out our Christianity before the Elseng people.

As we learn the Elseng language and culture it will help us to understand how to begin cultivating the soil of their hearts to loosen up the ground and remove the rocks and weeds that would prevent their clear understanding of the Gospel message. Of course God is the one who draws men to Himself and we are only tools in His hand to help prepare the ground, plant the seeds and water them. He ultimately brings forth the harvest as He quickens mens hearts to understand His truth.

Presently we are living in town, building relationships within the local church and working on various projects to assist our mission and to prepare ourselves for the days ahead.

It is challenging to live in Papua, but we do count it a privilege to be here as Christ’s ambassadors.

• Please pray with us for the salvation of the Elseng people and God’s glory through their faith in Him.
• For wisdom and strength to finish our surveys and make the necessary decisions before moving into Elseng.
• That Christ will be clearly evidenced in our lives.
• For health issues, our family has been plagued with sickness these past two months. Malaria, colds, ear infections, accidents causing significant injury, etc… We remember in these things that God is in control and we do not lose hope but please pray that we will always look to Christ in these challenges.
