Some of you may remember back a few years ago when we would often mention Emilio in our Prayer letters.
Emilio\’s wife, Kita came to know The Lord as her personal Savior long before he did and would often ask for Prayer
for her drunken and abusive husband. During the time when the men were building the church building at the Indian Colony, Emilio suddenly began coming around asking if he could help. During breaks when they were resting, Samuel and our then co-worker, Jerry Holmes would talk with Emilio about his need of a Savior and one day Emilio made a decision to accept Christ and was saved.
Samuel spent many hours discipling Emilio and teaching
and encouraging him in gardening.
Then last year Emilio began drinking and beating his wife again. He stopped coming to church and was never home when we would try to visit him.
Yesterday, 12/28/08 everyone was surprised to see Emilio come to church and then even more so when he went forward
and began to speak saying “I have sinned and I have done many bad things, but I am sorry and I want to come back!” Then to everyone\’s amazement, Emilio began to cry tears of repentance before God
and The Church! Pai Tavyterã People hardly ever show emotion, especially the men.
Thank you for Praying!!
THE REPENTANCE OF A WAYWARD SON
Please Pray for Isidora #2
Dear Friends, Many of you will remember Isidora. Back in July, we asked you to Pray for her because three of her grown daughters had beaten her up so badly.
Our hearts are heavy as we again ask that you Pray for Isidora. We found out yesterday, that on Christmas eve, one of Isidora’s daughters was very drunk and beat her up badly AGAIN and even bit her in the face! Please Pray for healing for Isidora and that she and her family will get saved. Thank you for Praying
THE PRIVILEGE OF PRAYER
Imagine what life would be like without worry! One Bible verse that I always come back to, is one that the apostle Peter wrote to the suffering saints of the early church.
1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
David encouraged the same thing in Psalm 55:22 when he said, “Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and He shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”
It is a wonder that we don\’t pray more! Mark 11:24 “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Rely upon His sure promise in Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it shall be given you.” While we are on this earth there will always be opportunities to take on the cares of the world, but it says in Phil 4:6,7 to:
Be anxious for nothing,
but in everything by prayer and supplication, with THANKSGIVING,
let your requests be made known to God;
and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Our Loving Heavenly Father gives strength for the burdens of the day–we shouldn\’t attempt to carry the load of tomorrow with it or our burden will seem heavier than we can bear.
Our Lord sincerely wants us to give all of our cares to Him, but He won’t wrestle them away from us. We must surrender them to Him.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace. (Helen H. Lemmel)
Let\’s Praise and thank
our AWESOME and MIGHTY Heavenly Father
For the Promises of His WORD!

RECALDE PRAYER LETTER (CHRISTMAS 2008)
Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
WHAT A PRIVILEGE PRAYER IS! We Praise and Thank our God, our most AWESOME and MIGHTY Heavenly Father for the Promises in HIS WORD!
Dear Friends, CHRISTMAS 2008
MERRY CHRISTMAS from the Recalde family! 2008 has been a busy year for us, but God has been faithful, even in the tough times and we Praise Him for all that he has done and is doing amongst the Pai Tavytera People!
We thank you very much for Praying for our work here in Paraguay amongst the Tribal People and for your financial support each month! Thank you for being our co-workers! We praise the Lord for the continued freedom to teach God\’s Word here in Paraguay.
In our last letter, we asked you to Pray as Tracy flew back to the U.S.A. to be with Rachael for the birth of our grandchild. Thank you for Praying! Chance Christopher was born on October 29th weighing 7 lbs 12 oz. Tracy had a good trip and was there for one month, getting to spend quality time with our two daughters, Rachael and Samantha and giving lots of hugs and kisses to our two little grandsons.
Please continue to Pray for us, for health, safety and encouragement as we seek to faithfully carry out the responsibilities that God has given us. It\’s hard to believe that another year is ending already and We Praise God for the continuing progress. As most of you know, we returned to Paraguay in March after a short three months in the U.S.A. . We sure enjoyed getting to visit many of you and are sorry that due to the icy roads and limited time, we didn\’t get to see everyone.
After returning, we decided to continue focusing mainly on the Indian Colony where we had been working last term, as the Church had struggled quite a bit in our absence and are not quite ready to function on their own. We continue without co-workers for now, but God is faithful. Please Pray for the Tribal People, as they hear the Gospel, that their hearts would be open to the Truth and for us to have wisdom as we teach them about the one True God.
Please continue to Pray for the Lord\’s care over us health wise and for safety on the road as we constantly travel back and forth between the small town where we live and the Indian Colony where we are teaching literacy and Bible classes.
Pray for Samuel especially as he also makes many trips alone out to the Colony to work.
Pray for Tracy as she works on translating Sunday school lessons for the Tribal children;
for guidance in producing lessons which are clear and simple. Pray also for her, for wisdom and patience in teaching the ladies Bible class and children Sunday school.
Thank you again for your help and Prayers!
In Christ\’s Service,
Samuel, Tracy and family

We recently found out that our daughter, Rachael, there in Chicago, Illinois is going to have a baby and is due on November 4th! We have Prayed a lot about it and decided that Tracy should go and be with Rachael for the birth of our grandchild. Tracy, will fly out of Asuncion on the 20th of October and will be there in Chicago with our daughter for one month, returning back here to Paraguay the 20th of November. Please Pray for Samuel as he holds down the fort here in Paraguay and for safety as he goes out to teach at the Indian Colony alone while Tracy is away and for God\’s provision!!
Please Pray for more laborers for the work here in Paraguay. There are still many who have not heard and much that still needs to be done!

RECALDE PRAYER LETTER (AUGUST 2008)
AUGUST 2008
Dear Friends,
1 John 5:14-15
Greetings from the Recaldes here in Paraguay. Once again it is time to “catch you up” on what is happening and what we have been doing in the last couple of months.
First of all, we want to thank you very much for being our co-workers and Prayer-partners! Thank you for your sacrificial giving and Prayers so that we can be here! We praise God for the daily strength that he gives to us and for His faithfulness! We are so thankful that we have had such a mild Winter so far this year!
Please continue to Pray for the Church out at the Indian Colony. Satan is constantly at work and many of the tribal People continue to struggle with alcoholism. Pray that God would give us wisdom and insight in knowing how to help them. Please Pray for the Believers, that they will grow in The Lord and for the Salvation of those who have not understood yet. Please Pray also for us to continue to have safety on the road as we are constantly traveling to and from the Indian Colony and also that our truck will continue to run well as the road conditions are rough on our vehicle.
Pray for Samuel as he continues to train and equip faithful Tribal men for leadership in the Church. Please Pray also for him as he teaches Bible and literacy classes during the week.
Please Pray for Tracy, as she teaches a Sunday school class to the Tribal children. We have so many children who come to church on Sundays that we decided Sunday school would be a good idea and the children just LOVE it! The preparation is time-consuming for Tracy, as she must translate each lesson from English into Guarani before she can teach it. Pray for Tracy and Mamila too, as they continue to teach the Tribal ladies Bible class each Saturday. Please Pray for Tracy concerning the frequent headaches that she has been experiencing for the last few years which seem to be getting worse.
Please remember our own kids in your Prayers also, that they would continually seek God\’s will and have wisdom in decisions they make in their lives! Our two oldest daughters who live in the U.S.A. Rachael is a nurse in Chicago and Earl (our son-in-law)and Samantha and little Alex recently moved to Davenport, Iowa. Our children who are still at home are Stefany, who graduated from high school last year, Kristina in the 9th grade and Nathan in the 5th grade. Stefany is working at a large store that sells computer supplies and saving to start college next year.
Please Pray for us to have wisdom in prioritizing our time in our daily responsibilities as we seek to be a light for Christ to the Pai Tavyterã Tribal People.
In Christ\’s Service, Samuel, Tracy and Family
