Some of you may remember back a few years ago when we would often mention Emilio in our Prayer letters.
Emilio\’s wife, Kita came to know The Lord as her personal Savior long before he did and would often ask for Prayer for her drunken and abusive husband. During the time when the men were building the church building at the Indian Colony, Emilio suddenly began coming around asking if he could help. During breaks when they were resting, Samuel and our then co-worker, Jerry Holmes would talk with Emilio about his need of a Savior and one day Emilio made a decision to accept Christ and was saved.
Samuel spent many hours discipling Emilio and teaching and encouraging him in gardening.
Then last year Emilio began drinking and beating his wife again. He stopped coming to church and was never home when we would try to visit him.
Yesterday, 12/28/08 everyone was surprised to see Emilio come to church and then even more so when he went forward and began to speak saying “I have sinned and I have done many bad things, but I am sorry and I want to come back!” Then to everyone\’s amazement, Emilio began to cry tears of repentance before God and The Church! Pai Tavyterã People hardly ever show emotion, especially the men.
Thank you for Praying!!

Imagine what life would be like without worry! One Bible verse that I always come back to, is one that the apostle Peter wrote to the suffering saints of the early church.
1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
David encouraged the same thing in Psalm 55:22 when he said, “Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and He shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”
It is a wonder that we don\’t pray more! Mark 11:24 “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Rely upon His sure promise in Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it shall be given you.” While we are on this earth there will always be opportunities to take on the cares of the world, but it says in Phil 4:6,7 to:
Be anxious for nothing,
but in everything by prayer and supplication, with THANKSGIVING,
let your requests be made known to God;
and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Our Loving Heavenly Father gives strength for the burdens of the day–we shouldn\’t attempt to carry the load of tomorrow with it or our burden will seem heavier than we can bear.
Our Lord sincerely wants us to give all of our cares to Him, but He won’t wrestle them away from us. We must surrender them to Him.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace. (Helen H. Lemmel)

our AWESOME and MIGHTY Heavenly Father
For the Promises of His WORD!

PRAISE:

*Tracy had a good trip to the States and back and was able to spend time with both of our daughters there.

*God is faithful, even in the tough times.

*Church at the Colony where we are working is growing.

*Continued freedom to teach God\’s Word here in Paraguay.

*Our kids finished the school year with good grades.

PRAYER:

*Please Pray for the Tribal church here.

*The Tribal Believers ask for Prayer concerning their marriages and life in their homes.

*Pray for Samuel as he continues to train and equip faithful Tribal men for leadership in the Church and teaches Bible and literacy classes during the week.

*Hugo and Ñeka recently married (Hugo leads singing in Church on Sundays)

*Pray for us, for health, safety and encouragement as we seek to faithfully carry out the responsibilities that God has given us.

*Please Pray for Tracy as she prepares Sunday school lessons for the Tribal children and teaches them each week.

*Tracy starting up Saturday ladies meeting again in January. (stopped for trip to the U.S.A.)

*Spiritual growth of the Tribal Believers

*Please continue to Pray for Tracy concerning the frequent headaches that she has been experiencing for the last few years which seem to be getting worse.

*Future leadership in the Tribal Church .

Please continue to Pray for Samuel and Tracy Recalde as they make many trips out to the Indian Colony during the week and also on Saturdays and Sundays to teach Bible and literacy classes to the Tribal People. Please Pray for safety in isolated areas on the way and that the truck will keep running good in spite of rough road conditions. Please Pray also for God’s wisdom in teaching and that many more will be saved!
