Isidora’s new daughter

Sunday, September 6th, 2009

Many of you will remember us asking for Prayer for Isidora when her daughters beat her up badly on two different occasions.isidora

Isidora is one of the Colony midwives and you probably also remember Raulito, the adorable little boy she is raising because his biological mother told her to throw him away at birth.p7201212

We have news for you! Isidora has a new little daughter. The mother (Isidora’s sister) had abandoned her with the paternal Grandmother who is already raising several other children and was very impatient and cruel with the little girl. She has scars all up and down her arms and on her shoulders and neck from the beatings that she endured at the hands of her Grandmother who finally gave her to Isidora saying that she doesn’t want her anymore.little-abused-girl

Although these children are much better off with  Isidora and her husband Gregorio than they were before, life will not be easy for them. Gregorio and Isidora are both alcoholics and also in the Pai culture, adopted children are usually raised to be the family servants and forced to work in the garden and carry water from the river etc. at an early age.

Please take a moment to Pray for Isidora and her husband, Gregorio, that they will get saved soon so that these sweet children can grow up in a Christian home.

Justino on trip to Capital city, Asuncion

JUSTINO & HUGO’S TRIP TO THE CAPITAL CITY, ASUNCION
Last week, we made a trip to Asuncion and back, taking with us two Tribal men from the Colony where we are presently teaching. It is about a six hour trip from here to Asuncion.
It was a VERY hot day and about half way there, our truck motor suddenly died and refused to start again no matter how much Samuel tried.
After only about ten or fifteen minutes, a passing vehicle stopped. It was a German man and he said that he is a mechanic and offered to take a look at our motor.
Right away he knew what was wrong. The last gas station had put dirty diesel in our tank. It probably had water in it.
The man had just the right tool in his car and had our motor running again in no time and sent us on our way telling us to stop at the next town to have the filter changed.
Thanking God for sending us our very own “Good Samaritan,” we continued on our way.
Just as we drove up to the mechanic shop that the man had told us to go to, our motor completely died again and we rolled quietly into the place, where they quickly took care of us. After about an hour, we were on our way again praising our Lord for
His goodness and provision!

In Asuncion, our Tribal brothers, Justino and Hugo, participated in a special meeting organised by another New Tribes Missionary to challenge local Paraguayan Churches to become more involved with reaching Tribal People for Christ. Samuel also gave a presentation of the work that we are doing here.

Yesterday, out at the Indian Colony, during the Sunday morning Church service, both Justino and Hugo shared with their own People all about their experience of going to a big city and how God took care of us on the trip.
They were both very impressed with the fact that now they had seen for themselves that there are people in far-away places who Pray for them and want to help them.
THANK YOU PRAYING!!Samuel & Tribal guys in Asuncion
