Our Work
December 1989-present: We work with the Pai Tavyterã Tribe in Paraguay, South America.
Samuel and Tracy Recalde welcome you to our website! We hope that it will be a blessing to you and that through it you will be better informed of our ministry with Tribal People here in Paraguay, S.A. Samuel is a Paraguayan National. His parents, Clemente & Catalina Recalde were saved many years ago through the ministry of New Tribes Mission missionaries Duane & Mary Stous. Samuel’s parents helped the missionaries for several years after they became Believers. Samuel and Tracy (daughter of David & Joed Hill of Batavia, Iowa) knew each other and played together as children since their parents worked together for several years in a remote Indian Colony. When they were teenagers, Samuel went to help out for awhile in the village where Tracy’s family was living and working with the Angaite Tribal People. There Samuel and Tracy fell in love and were married on August 16,1980. Samuel was 20 years old and Tracy was 17. We stayed on there for a year and helped Tracy’s father to teach in the Tribal school. In 1983 Mr. Robert Goddard (Grandpa Bob) invited us to spend a year among the Pai Tavyterã Tribe. That was a year of growing and maturing Spiritually. After that year was up, we decided that we wanted to serve God full-time in reaching Tribal People for Christ and began our missionary training. Samuel attended the Bible school in the capital city, Asuncion and Tracy by correspondence course. We, then went on to the New Tribes Mission training school in Brazil.
We have five children. Rachael Marie, our oldest daughter lives in Naperville, Illinois and is a nurse. Samantha Lee, our second daughter lives in Ottumwa, Iowa and is married to Earl Thomas. Our third daughter Stefany Danelle recently graduated from high school. Our fourth daughter, Kristina Lucille is in high school and Nathan Samuel, our son is in the sixth grade. On July 10,2007 our first grandson, Alex Emory Thomas was born and our second little grandson, Chance Christopher Griffin was born on October 29, 2008.
We have been working with the Pai Tavyterã tribe for almost twenty years now and it is a privilege and an honor to be in Christ’s service. We want to thank you for being our co-workers in this ministry through your support and Prayers!
