…Joining the Job Fair
The local high school has a job fair each year for the graduating seniors. NTM’s Missionary Training Center was invited this year to set up a booth along with other local businesses, Government organizations, and more. We were asked to set up and man the booth for the evening.
We had several students who stopped by because they were either friends with teens from the New Tribes campus or they were just being polite. However, the most interesting response we got were from a few of the…
…PARENTS. There were a couple of moms that we connected with. They commented that their children would soon be out of the home and they were looking for something they could do. We were thankful for them taking a few minutes to talk with us.
No matter where we are in life, it is never too late to learn more about God through reading and studying the Bible. It is also never too late to share the good news of the Gospel of grace with those who have never heard.
We Found a Church!
Praise the Lord!
After a couple of months going to different churches to see where we would fit in best we have found our niche. We have gone to Community Baptist Church in Lebanon, MO. The people there are so warm and friendly. We are looking forward to getting involved in some of the ministries there when we return from visiting with family and friends over the Christmas and New Years Holiday.
Blessings,
Amy
Women’s Retreat
MTC ladies are having a women’s retreat coming up at a retreat center near our campus. They have asked me to get a team together to lead the praise and worship music for the weekend. I am so excited for this opportunity to minister to the ladies here. Please pray that God will put the team together and that things will go smoothly be glorifying to Him.
…Making Friends
Have you ever wanted to get past all the initial interractions with a person so you could just "be friends". Well that’s what I’ve been going through lately. Remember what it was like when we were kids? We could meet someone and five minutes later be best friends. As I get older making good friends like that gets harder and harder.
Just a thought
Why do we feel like we need to impress people in order for them to like us. Then, we think that once they get to know and understand us they will like us more. Sometimes that happens and sometimes it doesn’t. I am reminded that there is one who likes us for who we are, no matter what.
A verse that a teacher reminded me of in class the other day was 2 Corinthians 5:9. It says, "Therefore we also have as our ambition…to be pleasing to Him." If I make it my goal everyday to please my Creator, then won’t He fulfill my need for fellowship? I think so!
New Beginnings
We are two weeks into our first semester of training, and are just beginning to adjust to our new routine. Please be in PRAYER for us. PRAY that we would be able to soak all of the information we are learning in our classes. PRAY that we will all stay healthy as we adjust to our environment. PRAY that we would have wisdom as we parent our precious girls. …but most of all, PRAY that we would rely on the Lord and not ourselves in all areas of our lives.
We covet your prayers always.
Thank YOU for Partnering with us in PRAYER!
