Patrick’s Health Update: GREAT NEWS!
Wednesday, February 11th, 2009Successful Trip and Tropical Storm Fay
Tuesday, August 19th, 2008We’ve been traveling recently. After three and a half weeks and 2700 miles in our van, we are praising God for a good trip!
We spoke with churches, groups of people and individuals in South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. Our Father opened eyes and softened hearts, and some people are praying about serving in full-time missions. What a blessing for us to be used in such a way, drawing more workers for the harvest! On a personal note …
Tuesday, July 8th, 2008Wow! We have been at NTM\’s US Headquarters for 7 months now. What a privilege it is to be involved in what God is doing in tribes around the world.
The past few months have been very busy for us. (more…)
It’s more than a story
Wednesday, April 16th, 2008One of the best aspects of working in the Communications Department is hearing and re-telling the stories of tribal people.
Every day, our inbox is filled with email messages from our NTM co-workers living in tribes around the world. Some of the messages are weekly, or sometimes daily, accounts of tribal people learning the true stories from God\’s Word for the first time. (more…)
Hatcher Happenings April 2008
Tuesday, April 8th, 2008Hello, Friends and Family,
Thank you for your prayers and involvement in our ministry.
Our Father really blessed Patrick’s time at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention. He and the others from NTM learned a great deal about broadcast media, and they made some valuable contacts. Because of these divine appointments, many more people will learn about unreached people groups and their need for Christ. (more…)
NRB Convention – Nashville
Saturday, March 8th, 2008Yesterday Patrick rode to Nashville with some other men from the NTM Communications Department to attend the National Religious Broadcasters Convention.
Why would a bunch of missionaries go to a broadcasting convention? — you ask. Well, as our fellow NTM missionary Dave Meyers said, “it has everything to do with raising the awareness of unreached people groups around the world through the best media practices possible.” (more…)
Is it true?
Thursday, February 28th, 2008I was looking at the labels on household items the other day and I found some strange things.
My wife’s shampoo says that it has “special non-breakage potion”. What is that?
Our hand lotion now comes with “subtle light reflectors” and “dimethicone skin protectant.” How do you get light reflectors into lotion, and how do you make it subtle? I also haven’t a clue what dimethicone is.
A bottle of mousse is labeled with “extra volumizing foam.” Volumizing isn’t even an English word, and is there “just a little volumizing foam” in other products?
The granola bar I just ate is labeled “100% natural”. Hmm. I can visualize the nuts, raisins, honey, granola and high fructose goo that keeps them all together growing on a tree packaged in plastic wrapping somewhere. That 100% natural is a bit misleading.
My response to all this marketing fluff is a deeply intellectual: HUH? (more…)
Unexpected death halts Bible teaching for Inanbimali tribe
Thursday, February 7th, 2008Jennifer and I are sometimes asked “Why are you missionaries?” Usually, it’s from kids, because adults don’t have the guts to ask.
The man in the picture is Tino, a Tribal Leader with the Inanbimali tribe in Papua New Guinea.
He’s the reason we are missionaries.
Tino died unexpectedly on Tuesday and went to Hell without the Gospel. (more…)
Inanbimali villagers hold 25 verses from Genesis
Saturday, February 2nd, 2008Bible teaching continues in the Inanbimali tribe in Papua New Guinea. Missionaries are encouraged as 90 percent of the village showed up for the second day of teaching.
“We handed the first Scripture to the Inanbimali people,” wrote Tim Shontere. “We handed Genesis 1:1-25 to our tribal people. There was great excitement to be able to hold God’s Word for the first time in their language.” (more…)
