Pray for Paska and Robin to find ways to use what they learned on their recent visit to the Maleu church. We would like to see them share the vision of what a New Testament church should look like with the other Tigak believers. Pray that the community would be excited and supportive of a new Phase 1 teaching that will begin soon on our island.
Progress on translation
Please be praying for Ned as he continues to translate God’s Word into the Tigak language. He will be having a translation check in September and wants to have as much ready as possible to be checked. This may be his last chance to have a translation check for the next year. Pray that Ned can stay focused and use his time wisely. Also, that he would be able to know how much time to spend on translation and how much to spend on discipleship and training the Tigak believers since we are without partners.
Pray for the Tigak Believers
Please be praying for Paska, the main Tigak Bible teacher, as he teaches the believers through the book of I Corinthians. This is his first time to teach a book of the Bible completely on his own. We want to see the believers growing and being burdened to reach out to the many Tigak who are unbelievers.
Translation Workshop
Ned Beall is working with Wayne Baker for two weeks training missionaries, who have just completed their culture and language acquisition, how to begin translating God’s Word into a tribal language. The time is very full and quite intense. Please pray for stamina for Ned, Wayne and the othe rmissionaries as they put in long days, six days a week, for the next two weeks. It is a blessing to be part of preparing more translators for turning the Bible into another tribal language.
Kara Linn and Josiah Beall settling into school
Please be praying for Josiah and Kara Linn as they are beginning a new phase of their lives. Josiah is attending our mission boarding school in PNG for the first time for 11th grade. He is very excited and loving all the activities and friends he has there. Kara Linn will be remaining behind in the USA to attend college. She has good relationships with her grandparents in Texas but she will still be thousands of miles from Mom and Dad.
Cleaning and Repairing the bush house after furlough
Ned Beall is back on the island getting the house back in order for the rest of the family to return. Ned will be working on repairing damage caused by termites and mold. Pray for Ned that he can get the work done quickly so that he can return to the REAL work of Bible translation and church planting!
Meetings
Please pray for Ned and the Shivelys as they have meetings and make decisions regarding the work among the Tigak people.
