Saturday, June 27th, 2009When asked to give one word to describe our time at Enrichment 09 it was clearly “Connections.” Connecting to NTM International, coworkers, and innovative ideas for partnership development.
This was our first year to attend an event at the Missionary Training Center (MTC) in Missouri. We learned many things. (more…)
Blessings
Thursday, December 4th, 2008Our thanksgiving was spent in Missouri at NTM’s Missionary Training Center. Last minute plans came together for us to celebrate thanksgiving break with some really good friends we’ve made while in ministry at NTM training centers. It was so good to fellowship with them. Florida in February
Wednesday, March 5th, 2008Since Nathan had US IT meetings in Sanford, we took the opportunity to come a few days early to meet with folks we work with via phone and e-mail. While we were packing for a trip to Florida, we had a hard time wrapping our minds around 78 degrees. Although Nathan wore shorts most of the time, I understood how the Floridians consider this, part of their winter. (more…)
Working together
Saturday, September 29th, 2007It is comforting to know that you don’t have to do it all yourself. There are people God allows in our lives to help us in areas that we are weak or just need a hand in. On Friday, NTBI President, Rex Gutwein and I, along with our wives, met with Dr. Felix Aguilar and 32 of his students at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana.
The objective of this meeting was to present the ministry of NTM as well as give an initial look into the issue we are facing with our current student records program(s). (more…)

Grateful
Thursday, January 25th, 2007
What good is there in laundry, dishes, toys strewn about the house, and conflict? The Lord has really been challenging me lately to see all those chores that never end as blessings. I am thankful for all the clothes I have to fold because I know it was God who provided for them either through hand-me-downs or the money to purchase them. Also for the pile of dishes to be cleaned because it means we never go hungry. Yes, even for the toys to pick up that are all over the house because it means God has given me the desire of my heart – children. And most of all I am thankful for the conflicts and hardships that I go through because it reminds me that God is not finished with me yet and He will be faithful to continually conform me to His image.
Thanksgiving
Saturday, November 25th, 2006
As I see my kids sitting with their cousins at the kid’s table, I remember all the great memories from my childhood at Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is the biggest holiday at on my dad’s side. It is a celebration of family and friends. So what if the house is packed full of people. So what if you can barely move your elbows to eat all the scrumptious food at the table. So what if there is a pile of dishes to do once everyone has eaten their fill and then some. The important thing is that we are all together – laughing, eating, watching football and playing together. Sure it is not all perfect or quiet, yet I love it. I am thankful for the godly heritage I have.
Partnership Development
Monday, May 1st, 2006Partnership development is all about building strong relationships with people who desire to get involved with our ministry. When we spend our time traveling from church to church with only a few hours in one spot, we are unable to build those relationships.
On the other hand, if we plant ourselves in one church for an extended period of time we build relationships with the pastor, staff, church leadership, and the body. We get to know them through constant interaction and they desire to get to know us and New Tribes Mission more. (more…)
