Reaching out to Tribal Indonesians through Aviation

About

"Why do you do what you are doing?"
"Isn’t it unsafe?"
"What about your children?"

These are just a few questions we hear from people about our desire to reach the unreached people of this world.  It does seem crazy to travel half way around the world to fly a little single engine airplane in hazardous weather and conditions.  It seems crazy to man but to God it makes complete sense.

We have a passion to see those who have never heard of Christ to finally hear of Him in their native tongue.  God has equipped Nathan as a pilot to fullfill a unique ministry in reaching unreached people.  As a pilot, he is a truck driver, taxi driver, ambulance driver, school bus driver and everything else driver to supply the church planting missionaries who work in some of the most remote locations in the world.

Imagine you are deep in the jungle away from your family, friends and civilization.  It is a two week trip to get to the nearest town where you can buy supplies.  Not to mention the two week trip back.  If it wasn’t for the airplane your remote location would make the language and translation work you are doing take three times as long.  And what if someone gets really sick? Without the airplane to wisk you off to the nearest hospital things could get really bad.

This is why the airplane is such a critical link in reaching tribal people for Christ.  It is the life link for hundreds of missionaries who live in some of the most remote locations.  It is also why we are involved in the ministry that we are.  We desire to minister in a support role to the tribal church planters so their attention can be completely  focused on translation of the scriptures and planting New Testament churches.  Together we all can reach the unreached people groups of the world.
