Partners

We are praising God for continuing to raise up partners as we travel and share about our ministry, some financial and some prayer but all an encouragement.

Please continue to pray for more opportunities to share about what God is doing and for us to not miss any of the opportunities God brings along.

Summer Trip

  • Praise for the opportunity to share our future ministry with an associate pastor and his wife and their commitment to pray for us.
  • Pray for more opportunities to share with others and that we would excite people about what God is doing.
  • Pray that our time traveling and visiting family and friends will be profitable, glorifying and encouraging.
  • Pray that we would continue to see God’s goodness and provision, no matter the circumstances, as we travel.

End of another semester

Here are some current prayer requests:

  • That Matt would finish his linguistics class well, it has been a long semester and it is hard to focus towards the end.
  • That both the kids will also work hard through these last couple weeks of school.
  • For Matthew as he has been asked to share at a youth conference here at the MTC about being a mission pilot and challenging other teens about serving God.
  • For our summer trip plans (to the west coast), especially opportunities to share about our future ministry and what God is doing as He builds his church.

New Year

We would appreciate your prayer in these areas……

Matt will be starting linguistic training on Jan. 19th.

Christine will be working on staff in child care and managing the mission barrel.

Matthew will be resuming flying lessons.

Meghan needs a new flute for marching band in the fall.

First of many goals reached.

As of January 1st we have been welcomed as official members of NTM. What that means is that we are recognized as missionaries and are a part of a bigger team with the goal of reaching every tribe with the Good News. Not a lot of things will change for now (for all you anyway). The only major change is that people can now send donations in directly to us, through NTM, and receive a tax deductable receipt.

We are staying at the MTC for another year so Matt can complete linguistic training, during this time Christine will work on staff.

We couldn’t have arrived at the place where we are without each one of you praying and supporting us. We definitely wouldn’t be here without our faithful God. We consider serving the Lord such a privelege and want to thank each of you personally for being a part of our team.

Final week

Posted in Uncategorized on Dec 14th, 2008 | Discuss This Post

Well we are entering our final week of classes and it is tough to remain focused. There are so many things to think about that we find ourselves struggling to not "check out". Please remember us (our entire graduating class) in prayer as we finish 3 1/2 years of formal training and look to becoming members of NTM in January. Thank you for holding us before the Lord in prayer.

Growing up

Well it looks like our kids are not really kids anymore. We had the opportunity to be passengers as Matthew flew today and the realization hit that he is a young man. He did the preflight, take off, landing and all the radio communication without the instructor helping. It is exciting and sobering to realize that God is maturing Matthew whether mom and dad are ready or not. Please be praying for him as he is becoming a man and for us as we are seeing him begin to move away from complete dependence on us.

Some current prayer requests

Posted in Uncategorized on Nov 14th, 2008 | Discuss This Post
  • for us to remain focused on classes and what God wants to teach us as we draw near to the end of the semester.
  • for health as we have been sick a lot lately, Matt has been sick off an on for 5 weeks and had lost 15 pounds but recently has gained a few back.
  • for finances as we realize the financial situation of our country has left people hurting and reluctant to give.
  • for Matthew working on getting his drivers license and pilots license.
  • for Meghan who seems to be developing into quite a little flute player.

it is finished…almost

As we draw near to the end of our training we would appreciate your prayers. Saying goodbyes to friends we have lived next to for 4 years, transitioning into a life as missionaries, from being full time students, and completing the task of making our ministry known so that God can raise up a team of supporters, praying, giving and encouraging us. All for the purpose of taking the Gospel to the lost of Cambodia. thank you.

Linguistics

Posted in Uncategorized on Aug 9th, 2008 | Discuss This Post

After much prayer and discussion we have concluded that the extra time spent for linguistic training would be profitable. So please be in prayer as we finish our last semester of mission training and Matt prepares to stay on for a very intense time of training. The training starts in January 2009 and continues until October, minus our summer break.
