21 days…doesn’t sound too long and it didn’t to me either until I actually spent those days alone out in the village. The time was a blessing to get things done on the house and I specially enjoyed the extra quiet time fellowshipping with the Lord, but I sure missed Mary-Jane and the kids something fierce. We praise the Lord that I was able to come out on the 23rd without any hiccups in the trip and we have been enjoying the holidays together. We thank the Lord for the work I was able to get done on the house, it really needed a paint job to protect the wood from the rain and the bugs. There is still more painting to be done on it and a local Brazilian man is going to finish that up for us.
What now? We are here with my folks until the 9th and then we will move to the boarding school where Baylee will finish up second grade. I will be teaching and possible coaching basketball for the months we are at the school. Mary-Jane will be teaching Dawson kindergarten and taking care of the needs of Ayla and Colton as well. Another wonderful blessing is that we will be hosting our nephew, Sheldon, in our house for the months we are there at the school. His parents will be leaving him at the school as they are due to return to their ministry with the Culina people.
Please do pray for Sheldon (who is 8 years old) and his parents Jeff and Adriana Howe as they adjust to being apart. Our prayer is that we will allow the Lord to use us in any way He sees fit during these months we will be at the boarding school. Please do remember to pray for our coworkers Brad and Howe as they continue on alone for the next month in the village. Our other coworkers Jose and Suelaine are due to return February. Thank you all for praying and encouraging us through emails!!
