Missoula, MT
Montana is a huge state to be stranded in but God is still in control. We had just finished a great week in the Seattle area and with our home church and were heading to Wisconsin with a car that was given to my son Kevin. It made it over the Cascade and Rocky Mountains fine but the transmission totally quit in Missoula, Montana on Labor Day. God worked it out that we coasted down the off ramp right into a park and ride area. Praise the Lord we did have friends in Missoula who graciously took us in. In fact, we were at one of the closest exits to their home. We stayed the night with Pastor Jeff Valentine and his family while figuring out what the Lord wanted us to do about the car and the rest of our trip. After talking with a transmission shop we decided to give the car to a scrap yard. Praise the Lord Kathy was able to locate a one way rental that was only a bit more than the bus and a lot better than flights out of Missoula. The rental also had some transmission problems so we traded it in along the way. We arrived home safely three days later and were thankful we did not hit any deer. They seemed to be all over. Kathy continued to do well during the trip and was able to help with a lot of the driving which was amazing.
