As the KODIAK took off down the runway, the eyes of veteran missionaries became misty, for they were seeing first hand the answer to years of prayers.

The KODIAK – a bear of a plane!

We spent an entire day watching the KODIAK perform unbelievable manuvers as it took off and landed in an incredibly short distance on a runway – I mean really!!

KODIAK Day was held at the airport in Camdenton Missouri, offering rides in this incredible machine. I jumped on board early, catching a bird’s eye view of the activities, the MTC campus and being absolutely amazed at what this plane could do. A glimpse below showed many tents housing food, fun for the kids, NTM’s Tech Center, along with information on the KODIAK. The MTC praise band played on a flat-bed trailer, there were sessions simulating learning a language from a tribal person, and the EAA was there, giving free rides to youth as part of Young Eagles.

These planes are still being built and NTM is planning to use them to reach isolated people groups with the Gospel. May they be used in a mighty way.

AN AWESOME CAMP WITH AN INCREDIBLY GOD-CENTERED PURPOSE! Wow – we had the privilege of going to East Iowa Bible Camp in Iowa where Jim was the speaker for the Family Weekend Retreat.
We came away with hearts full of praise to our Lord as families joined in singing and studying from God’s word. Jim was the speaker for the weekend, something he loves to do. We had Chapel twice a day, great meals, fun games and swimming – a real plus in the heat.

The healing of our bodies is an awe-inspiring thing that we too often take for granted.

If we had every boo-boo from the day we were born, we’d be a sorry sight indeed!

With grateful hearts we left the surgeon’s office on Wednesday, just praising God for the gift of healing.

Ji’m’s achilles tendon repair is doing remarkably well, and he is now able to walk on it with the aid of an air cast.

Thanks to the many of you who have prayed for his recovery – we are blessed by you.

Heather leaves very early Wednesday morning for a very, very, very long flight to Papua New Guinea. It will reallly challenge the timing of her insulin needs.

We covet your prayers for her flights and also her first week as her body adjusts to so much.

She’s going with Interface, a division of NTM that takes college students to the tribes to experience first-hand what God is doing in reaching the unreached with the Gospel of Christ. Heather will be helping as staff. Her trip will last about 7 weeks.

Beginning…a new chapter in living by faith.

On May 19, 2007, 67 students finished their Stateside training with New Tribes Mission.

We will be saying good-bye to them, a scene which is played out here every year. And every year it’s one of the best and hardest things we do, for we have grown to know and love them during our times together.

Yet there’s a job to be done, and they need to move on. One of our greatest joys is of hearing what God is doing in and through them as they serve Him all over the world.

So long, guys! We’re praying for you.

DUCT TAPE!

You never know what a day holds. A volleyball game was the catalyst for change. Just a turn-for the worse-and Jim blew his achilles tendon. Amazingly he drove 8 hours the next day and met with an orthopedic surgeon who verified it. Thursday, May 3 Jim had surgery to repair/reconstruct the severed tendon. Anyone who knows Jim is aware he’s unusual, but this guy comes with extra body parts-a tendon-as a matter of fact, which the surgeon used to wrap around the repair. Pray for Jim to know what his limits are, and for me to have wisdom as to when to assist or duct tape him down.

Please pray:

Pray for opportunites to witness to our Dr. and his staff, and for Jim and I to grow in being conformed to the image of His son through this time.

Pray for the healing/rehabilitation-it could easily be 6 months.

The Trip south was a sucess – equipment was brought back to NTM’s Missionary Training Center safely.

We thank God for the many safe miles we traveled to get the equipment – thanks to all of you who prayed!

Along the way we were able to spend time with both of our girls and that was precious. Those of you with adult kids know what we mean. You take what you can get, are are grateful.

Now back in the saddle with ministry here at the MTC. God is so good – to speak of Christ openly , day by day, as our job!

Enough of this crazy winter weather in the mid-section of the United States! We're stomping the snow off our boots and replacing it with sand under our flip-flops...for a few days, anyway. You thought we were moving, didn't you? Well, read on.

On a mission for the Mission.

The MTC has equipment in Florida that needs to be brought back to Missouri and we have the privilege of seeing it gets here.

The plus side of this is that we’ll be able to see both of our girls. And did I mention the warm weather? Sunshine State here we come!

We’d appreciate your prayers as we travel over 2,400 miles.
