Jeremy and Beth Everson

Following the Everson Family in Mexico

Arizona!

Posted in Family on Jan 20th, 2010 | 2 Comments »
We are now in Arizona! We have the opportunity to visit with Beth’s sister Ruth and her husband Ben (and their kids) at Ben’s mom’s house in Green Valley, AZ. (You can see their blog by clicking on the link at the right – “Ben and Ruth Kane”) Ben and Ruth will be heading back to Indonesia in March to resume their work as missionaries to the Taliabu people. We don’t know when we’ll get a chance to visit with them again so we have taken one week to make this trip.
This is also our first visit to AZ. Though it is the desert like Chihuahua, we are learning that even the desert has different micro-environments and differences that create unique experiences and areas. In Chihuahua we have become accustomed to the plant life and animals that we see around us, but here in AZ there is an entirely different group of cactii and animals. We took a day to go to the Sonoran Desert Museum and Preserve. Here are some pics of our day.

Happy New Year!

We have a lot to be thankful for going into 2010 but most of all for the gift of yet another child.  We are expecting baby #4 on or around July 15th and we are very excited about this.

For those of you that follow or subscribe to this blog, I hope to be posting on a very regular basis now, but I will try to keep this space for ministry related posts.  For family related posts, check out our blog at www.jbeves.blogspot.com

Jonas is 5

Posted in Family on Jan 4th, 2010 | 3 Comments »

Well, it is a little after the celebration but here is a picture from Jonas’ 5th Birthday in November. We are so thankful for him and the unique individual that the Lord made him. Right now Jonas loves playing with Legos and thinks that pirates are just the coolest thing. This week we are back to school and are excited about getting to go and see my sister Ruth and her family for a little bit while they are in Arizona. This will be the last time we get to be together before they fly out to Indo. in the spring.

Invierno aqui . . . winter here

Well, it is winter here though you will not be seeing any snow in the background of our photos. In the evenings temps get below freezing but when the sun is high around noon it is generally nice outdoors. One of the things that has been an adjustment for us is not having open areas for the kids to run around and expend some of their energy so we are thankful that there are parks. Here we are at a local park (which often is really good language time for Jeremy and I). If you can see Kiera is missing most of her front teeth now, and having fun doing silly things with her tongue as a result. Mabri is loving being able to trot around the park where she chooses which most often means just following her older siblings where ever they are going!

Church Camping Trip

Posted in Family on Dec 24th, 2009 | Discuss This Post

Here are some shots that were taken when we went on a church family camping trip for the weekend. It was a really good opportunity to get to know our church family here better and get a closer look at some Mexican culture.
The kids enjoyed seeing a ‘burro’ on our morning walk and he seemed surprised to see folks up and about that early.

Jeremy was able to do a little rappelling class for those that were interested and the kids had fun playing with others that were too young to participate.

Feliz Navidad

We want to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas as you celebrate the wonderful gift that we were given through the birth of Jesus Christ. This is our most recent family picture that was taken on Jonas 5th Birthday. We went to one of his favorite parks and walked through a maze, ran around from slides to swings and then back again. Thank you all for your prayers for us and the notes that you send our way we really appreciate that.

Dios bendiga & continue to look to Him in all aspects of your life!

Y al final la mayor

These will probably be the last posts I make with Kiera’s front baby teeth. This week she lost one of the top front teeth and the other on is hanging on by a thread. She loves to color, paint, be with people, she is becoming a real big helper with her younger sister and in the kitchen as well. We are so thankful for her spunk and that our home never feels empty with her energy in our family.

Ahora #2

Well, Jonas is our man of silly faces. This boy was not created to be a city dweller. Jonas loves climbing the trees in our park, playing swords with whoever he catches, and creating robots and cars with his Legos. It is such a joy to watch the unique ways the Lord created each of our children, they have their own strengths and weaknesses and add a special spice to our family!

Update on kiddos (#3 first)

I thought that I would put some pictures of our growing kiddos up this week. Mabri is such a silly girl. . .but can one be a girl with out being silly at times:-) She loves babies, being out doors, going on walks, and doing EVERYTHING that her brother and sister do. . . though that does not always sit well with them.

Busy busy!

I think this is a sure fire sign that we have been keeping very busy. The other day while I was schooling the two older kids, Jeremy was upstairs with Mabri. Evidentially her interest was not kept with what he was doing and so crawled under our bed where we store her soon to be toddler bed mattress. When he went to check on her she had fallen fast asleep and took about an hour nap at 9 in the morning! Hmmm sometimes I wish that I could do that same:-) but it was fun to watch her catch a morning snooze! This coming weekend we are going on a church camping trip so we will update you on that this coming week sometime. As the Lord brings it to mind we would appreciate your prayers as this will be a very cultural event for us. The campground is used for church groups through out the year but we will be dinning Mexican style for the weekend and sharing bunk style living quarters. We are excited for this opportunity and getting to know some of the folks at our church better. We are praying for the Lord to keep us flexible and to have wisdom as we conduct ourselves for His glory.
