Please pray for me as I’m moving to Quebec Jan 4th. Pray for the trip. I’m driving my myself, for the packing and the goodbyes and for the adjustment up there. Thanks a lot for your prayers! They mean a lot!
Busy
Man, has life been crazy! It’s been good tho too! I’ve been working overtime at work and that keeps me busier.
It looks like I’m going to be in Quebec for sure this Jan! I’m SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited about this! It’s been awesome seeing how God has been providing for me! I started raising support in June and I’m going to Quebec in Jan! It’s been realy neat seeing Him work in my life.
There’s lots I need to do to get ready to go in Jan. Please pray! Also I’m not sure where I’m going to live. I have different options but I’d really appreciate your prayers for that as well.
Broken down car
I had the opportunity to speak in two churches Sunday. It went very well however not without God taking things away from me to make me rely on Him!
I was on my way up to Williamsport, PA to speak in my church there in Jeresy Shore where I went through part of the training. My car broke down with transmission problems. I knew I was having problems so I was checking the tranny fluid. I stopped for gas about a half hour away from Williamsport and had a feeling that I should check the tranny fliud again. Well that’s when I realized I had a proablem because I had to ad some more and you don’t go through it that fast! I looked under the car and sure enough I could see a leak! I didn’t know what to do. The thought crossed my mind that I should just try and make it to Williamsport since it wasn’t very far away; but then God remended me of dad telling me that it could ruin my car. So I called my uncle who’s a mechanic and my dad and triple A came and towed my car back to Lancaster. I also called my friends who I was staying with in Williamsport and they came and picked me up.
Then the next dilemma is transportation. I was going to go to NY to speak in a church Sunday evening. Well my uncle is lending me his van! But how are we going to get it ti where I was? Well my sister and a friend were coming up to listen to me on Sunday and they drove it up! It was awesome seeing God work!
Then I’m on my way to NY and I realize I left my Bible, notes and DVD at the church I had just spoken in. To make a long story short, God was teaching me to trust and rely on Him. I ended up speaking without my notes or DVD; all I had was a Bible that the pastor lent me.
It was awesome seeing God work! I thought I was going to be at least a half hour late but arrived on time! Mom was praying that there wouldn’t be any traffic and there wasn’t! I spoke without any notes and was able to be myself in front of a group of people I didn’t know very well! That was God! I had this feeling that God really wanted me there and He did! IT was SO neat seeing how God worked in all that happened this past weekend! I’m still SO excited about it!
Please pray for wisdom. I just found out this morning that I need a differnet tranny! They cost between 12 and 1500 dollars and I don’t know if i should get a new car for only another year or two here before I head over to Senegal.
Pittsburg
Thanks for those who prayed for me as I spoke at another church! It went really well! I got to see my dad’s aunt and uncle too which was fun!
Witnessing
I got a 2 week job which I’m very thankful for! I’ve been witnessing to a guy I work with. Please pray for him! He seems pretty set in his beliefs! I wish I could make him believe but I can’t. I just need to trust God!
Thanks!
I spoke at a church yesterday and had a great time! Thanks for those who prayed! I’m going to be speaking at another church this weekend as well. Please pray! Thanks!
I’m going up to MI to share what I’ll be doing in Senegal with a church there June 10. Please pray for safety in travel and for wisdom in sharing what I’ll be doing.
Reflecting on this past year
As I look back on this year, it was such a great one! It wasn’t always easy but God taught me SO much! Two friends died suddenly and I really struggled with trusting God. I finally came to the realization that even if I don’t understand why God does something, I still need to trust HIm. He doesn’t do anything that is not for our good! He loves us way too much!
The training was very practical and hands-on! I learned SO much about what it takes to learn another language and culture, how to teach people to read and write and lots of other things!
I also got to try lots of things for the first time! I’ve always wanted to fly a plane, water ski, and knee board and I got the opportuntiy to do all those things! I know those things aren’t that big a deal but it was like God was showing me how much He loved me. He didn’t have to let me do those things but He did!
There’s SO much more I could say about what God taught me this year but it would take way too long! I’m SO thankful for Christ and what He’s been doing in my life!
