About

…as the tourniquet cut off the flow of blood to his arm. "There was blood everywhere," said the tribal pastor, as he recalled this painful childhood memory about his father, the Hunter. "But my dad wanted to do what the ancestors had said in order to ensure that there would be venison to eat. Yes, this is the way we lived."
His face lightened a bit as he remembered that his father is now in Heaven. When the missionaries came, the Hunter was one of the first to believe, and the nephew is also now a Christian. The pastor continued, "We lived in darkness and deception. It’s like we were in Ichiae’s (Satan’s) corral. How good to be set free from that corral of deception! How good to know the truth. I will never have this done to my arm. I won’t cause my body to bleed. And neither will my sons. We are free because of the straight words of God!"

Stories as those above come directly from NTM’s website regarding what God is doing in and through NTM missionaries. Those stories are great reminders for us as we server in a stateside, support, ministry. We are so thankful to be training and support those who are training our next generation of tribal church planters. What an honor!
Perhaps you would like to help us out financially in this ministry! We are currently in need of monthly supporters. http://www.ntm.org/give/449 or email us at jeff_porter@ntm.org to ask how you can join our ministry team through finances!

The IT ministry is busy (as always) here at NTBI. This past summer we ran almost 14,000 feet of internet USIT Meetingscable to provide our students with a more reliable connection. This fall students have expressed their thankfulness to us and have encouraged us in our ministry. The picture is from our USITS meetings, we meet twice a year to discuss current and future issues with technology in the mission here in the USA. Even though we meet about 10 hours a day for 3 days straight to discuss “technology” we also manage to have a great time of fellowship and relationship building!

Nicky has enjoyed again serving with the ladies in childcare. The picture is from a staff outing we had. What do childcare ladies (all of which are mothers) do for a scarecrow competition? Make little kiddies of Childcare Ladies with their scarecrow for the competition straw of course! Just one more example to show their heart for serving mothers and their children here at NTBI.

Brittany is enjoying home schooling for her sophomore year and has enjoyed even more playing high school volleyball this fall, plus with mom as coach how can you not have fun, haha. She continues to enjoy making new friends. In the past month Brittany has started attending a youth group at Elmbrook Church and really enjoys the friends and fellowship there as well.

The girls continue to serve in AWANA and I have started a drama ministry here at the Bible School for outreach and evangelism as well as act in the local community theatre. It’s a great place to be a witness!

We enjoyed having my parents come this fall for a few days. Making a trip to show people Chicago is always fun. Having to suffer through shopping, site seeing, and “real” Chicago style pizza is always such a pain, hehe.

WHAT’S IN STORE DOWN THE PIKE? I (Jeff) am planning a trip to Indonesia in November to provide some computer support to missionaries there. This trip would also provide me a chance to visit and do some maintenance on the network at the training center where we served in 2005. We will need to raise about $2000.00 for this trip, if you would like to contribute to the trip please send support for this to our Waukesha address or ask us by email how you could get involved jeff_porter@ntm.org .
