Training this Generation of Church Planters

Expressions of Appreciation

Expressions of appreciation concerning the training and trip over to PNG:

Concerning The Training:

I think that you guys there at MTC do an AMAZING job of training our folks. I thank you, a thousand times over, for all the work that you and your coworkers are doing. I’ve had the privilege of working with folks from other organizations – people who’ve come to me for help in language and culture learning – and I’ve seen firsthand how disadvantaged they are because they’ve had little (if any) preparation for cross-cultural ministry. I see the huge advantage with which our people come to this ministry and I know that is a direct result of the ministry of the MTC staff. So again, I thank you. Keep on! Don’t be weary in well-doing! You are making our job a whole lot easier!

“Not sure how often you hear this but your classes and the training made a difference in our lives.  Keep up the good work!”.  Wayne

“Wanted to share that I received a call from the missions director….  Anyway, the mission’s director wanted to sure to communicate to me that he has been very impressed with the level of quality of students coming from both BI and MTC that he has had contact with.  He couldn’t say enough good about them.”  Marv

“This course will provide you with incredible tools for ministry. The opportunity to expand your ability to  grasp culture and embark on language learning is greatly enhanced with the true-to-life experiences that have been woven throughout the course. The degree to which you embrace this opportunity (realizing that you are being provided with tools for ministry that will equip you in ways that many other missionaries lack) is the degree to which you jump-start your future ministry to which God has called you.  As missionaries, with over 20 years of experience, we know many things about our target culture.  Our time at NTM has given us a deeper appreciation for the many different layers of culture and CLAware has made recording and tracking our cultural insights much more usable. The things that we learned during our time at New Tribes allowed us to learn a filing system, and broaden our understanding of language acquisition that has added a whole new dimension to our ability to identify worldview issues and address local narrative with the proper Biblical narrative. It has strengthened our ministry and we look forward to the fruit that God is bringing. You have a truly unique opportunity to begin ministry several jumps ahead of where we were when we began our ministry. May God bless you as you begin this exceptional course. ”  (Written to our candidates by folks with another Mission who came to receive some much needed training after having already been on the mission field for some 20 years).

Trip to PNG summer ‘09:

“Hey bro how are you doing? Trust you were able to transition smoothly back into life back in MO. I sure enjoyed meeting you and all the things you’ve shared during your time with us in the tribe. I imagine you are getting ready for the new school year to start, thanks for all your hard work and the effort you’re putting into the different classes you’re teaching plus the curriculum oversight. As I reflect on our ‘mission career’ I realized today that we as students are so blessed to have field-experienced teachers that are pooring their lives into a new generation, thanks for your service to the Lord!” –elias

“It was great to have your encouragement and insight as we talked through some things while you were here.”  Lisa

“Thanks so much for coming here!  We appreciate you taking notes and giving valuable insights.   We enjoyed getting to know you a little bit better….” Mariam
