NEW TRIBAL VIDEO WITH MOI VOICE-OVER

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

On October 5th I posted a new tribal video from New Tribes Mission of Canada. That version had English dubbing. I have since found a version with English sub-titles and Awayo telling his own story.

Here is a bit more information to go with the film:

Awayo lives in the mountainous jungle regions of West Papua, Indonesia. His tribe is called “Moi”(’moy’); there are only 700-800 Moi in existence. The Moi have a language and culture completely their own. Their primitive lifestyle is one that you wouldn’t think still truly exists in the 21st Century. Awayo’s home is as “ends of the earth” as you can get.

This is Awayo’s story. Though he lives in an indigenous, remote tribe, Awayo’s life is anything but simple. Riddled with pain, murder & deception, life in the Moi tribe was spent in constant fear. There was no hope. Then something happened that shook the foundation of Awayo’s life.

Back in December I wrote about a video which was being worked on. It is now finished. Here is the pre-release version of this.

Enjoy. I did.

BIKE STUNTS

Friday, September 4th, 2009

Growing up I enjoyed what I considered doing stunts on my bicycle. This only amounted to riding on just my back tire, or doing a front wheel stand.

The guy in this video is inspiring.

TORNADO FOOTAGE

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

Here is a video a friend of ours (Nico Masse) made about the tornado that hit Durham (and specifically New Tribes) last week. It gives a pretty comprehensive look at the damage.

It really is quite a blessing from God that no one at New Tribes was hurt and the damage wasn’t worse.

Moi Tribal Video

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

Since sometime in November, I have been following the blog for the NTM film team that was in the Moi tribe in Indonesia. This tribal work is pretty special to Angie and I because Tim and Kathy Whatley helped start that work (Kathy is Angie’s cousin, and they were our youth leaders when we were in high school).

Now NTM is doing a film on the change that has taken place in the lives of the tribal people since they accepted the Word of God as truth.

The blog for the film team is http://ntmfilms.wordpress.com/

Here is a video that just got put up today:

Delena featured walking in motion picture

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

What has two legs, two hands, three teeth, and prefers to walk in the upright position?

Delena!

That’s right, she is officially walking, and has been for a couple of weeks now. She also stared in Angie’s second motion picture, The Accessories of an 11-Month Old. To get a sneak peak at this rising star, check out this video.
