Angie`s trig student, Ruth, graduates from highschool

This last winter Angie had her debut as a high school teacher. She had an amazing class—a class of one.

Ruth Dyck graduated from Angie’s grade 12 trig class with a grade of 93%.

May 22nd we all joined Ruth in celebrating her graduation from highschool. Not only was she the top of her class, but she was the valedictorian. The fact she was the only one in class doesn’t take away from her straight A’s for the last couple of years.

A couple of times at Pitch and Praise 09, Jason got to direct the video support. This involved giving direction to 5 camera operators, and the switcher. All of this is necessary so that all 2000 in attendance can see what is happening on the stage by watc

For 11 years now Jason has been going to a youth retreat called Pitch and Praise every May long weekend. The first 5 years he was a camper. Since then he has been volunteering. Since their wedding Angie has been faithfully coming along with him.

While the youth don’t show up till after supper on Friday, the setup begins Tuesday when the big-top tent is set up for all the general sessions. It comfortably seats over 2000.

Pitch and Praise head-cook Barb and AngieWe arrived Wednesday and got to work. Angie helped prepare meals for all the volunteers, and then the 2000 campers and youth leaders. They do an outstanding job, preparing food for 2000 in a camp kitchen, and serving everyone in under an hour. Yep, they set some new speed records this year!

Can you spot Jason? At Pitch and Praise he ran mobile cameras on the stage.Jason helped with the tech crew. With such a big crowd, not everyone is able to see the guest speakers on the stage. So we build 4 large rear-projection screens, and run 5 video cameras for video support.

In addition to the big-top where the largest events are, we run a movie theatre, a karoke hall, a dance club, and an acoustic lounge. That’s a total of 5 venues!

This year he got to test out his skills on directing the video support. This involved giving direction to the 5 camera operators and the switcher.
