My pop’s tendon popped!

Dad is going into surgery tomorrow. Please pray! See below for more details from my mom:

During a volleyball game at a retreat Monday, Jim damaged his right foot. After an 8 hour drive from Iowa (he drove-Connie can’t), we were able to get in to an orthopedic surgeon, which is a miracle in itself.
An x-ray showed he severed his Achilles tendon and will require surgery to repair/reconstruct it.
Thursday morning he’s scheduled for surgery. He won’t be able to put any weight on it for about 8 weeks and then he’ll have major physical therapy, which we understand will be lengthy – many months.
Please pray for the surgery itself, and for keeping this guy of mine content while he convalesces. Pray for opportunities to witness to our dr. and his staff.
We thank God for the opportunity to grow in greater understanding and knowledge on Himself.
Thank you for partnering with us in prayer,
Connie

Papua New Guinea or Bust, Baby!

This summer I’ll be going through the Interface program.  It’s just one type of mission trip that NTM offers. Interface is an international, college level missions course located in the highlands of Papua New Guinea.

I’ll be experiencing what it takes to do tribal church planting as I learn from missionaries on the field. Then I’ll put myself to the test with daily interaction among tribal people from neighboring villages. Check out:

Reason I’m going? I need to speak from experience when talking to potential trip goers. Also there is a shortage of Interface staff and I will help wherever I can. My coworkers (from my home office) and I will be meeting with Interface staff.

I am really excited to experience Interface with people who are considering missions fulltime! It will be encouraging to watch God give them His passion to help give every person to the opportunity to KNOW Him!
