My heart’s desire is to see unreached people come to a saving knowledge of our great God and Savior. I hope to serve the Lord on a church planting team in a remote village setting in  West Africa. 

During this year (2009), I am living in Dakar, Senegal learning from and growing with some beautiful Senegalese Christian brothers and sisters.  I am serving the Lord with them in Dakar and praying that  the Lord will use us together to reach the lost in Dakar and in other parts of Senegal and West Africa.  I am learning more French, the national language in West Africa, and being immersed in Senegalese culture as well as building new relationships during my time in Dakar.   New Tribes missionary teams are already working among 8 tribes in Senegal and I will be visiting them as leadership and I are considering exactly where I might fit in.  We will consider my particular gifts and the current needs in West Africa before deciding what my specific job(s) might be.  I could serve on an existing church planting team, a new team, or work in a support role from Dakar. Thanks for praying with me for direction as I seek to submit to the Lord’s will for my life and faithfully serve Him. 

The goal for this time of national language study is to acquire a level of French and culture  that permits me to communicate God’s love and His Word effectively. I am also developing lasting friendships that I pray the Lord will use for His glory.  I praise God for the opportunity to partner with Senegalese believers to reach unreached people in the tribes and for their hospitality during my first year in West Africa as they open up their home and hearts to me. 

Please pray that I would increase in language and culture proficiency during my time in Dakar and that I would be a blessing to my host family and church. Pray also for direction in ministry for the future. Pray that I would daily be a witness of God’s glory.  Thank you for your partnership in ministry!  Your financial support, encouragment, and prayers are an essential part of reaching the unreached! 

This task surely takes a body of believers with different gifts and resources and I look forward to working together with you to reach the unreached in Senegal.
