Missionary & Church Relations, Canada

About

Our goal is not to see people saved.

Think past that:  God desires more for a person than ‘just’ hearing the Gospel and getting saved.  That’s just the beginning.  Becoming “born again” is the start – a whole life experience lies ahead.  God’s desire is to transform that life, to make it one that glorifies Him and becomes a witness and testimony to others.  God desires that new life to have fellowship and interaction with other believers.

That’s our goal too: to establish healthy and flourishing churches – i.e. communities of believers – among the remote and indigenous people of the world.

Working backwards from that, we need to have:

  • OVERSEAS
    • people willing and able to serve in the tribe.
    • leaders, pilots, accountants, supply buyers, educators and dorm parents for missionaries’ children
  • CANADA
    • administrative assistance for overseas missionaries
    • finance office for processing contributions
    • instructors for missionary training
    • property management & maintenance workers
    • church relations (mission representation)
    • missionary care (member care)

The last two bullets…that’s me.  After 8 years in the finance office, I have been in our new “Missionary & Church Relations” department since June 2005.  Our MCR staff are coordinating communication with our missionaries and their sending churches.  We are also working to develop better relationships with many other churches, to help them with their grow in their involvement with global missions.

Planting Tribal Churches requires dedicated missionaries.  Our responsibility is to assist and encourage those missionaries, working together with their sending churches to ensure that they have long and fruitful ministries.

Living in Durham allows us to develop relationships with new missionaries as they go through the training, and to visit with traveling missionaries as they stop in to meet with leadership and students.

Together we are making a difference!
