Over and over through the night I kept pulling the sleeping bag over my head to keep my nose from protruding into the fridged air. Despite this chilly weather both Arielle and I slept great and had a surprisingly relaxing weekend. You may be
wondering what is this all about? Well, over the weekend we had the privilege of going camping for a class called Practical Skills. We hiked in about one mile and had to make a shelter out of a tarp. We “learned” how to use a compass and a map to navigate through unfamiliar areas. We also watched a chicken be butchered, skinned, gutted and cooked; it tasted very yummy! Over all, it was a relaxing weekend.
This coming week we have to cook all our meals by scratch (which includes
bread, noodles, any snacks like crackers or granola bars etc), turn our lights off by nine, not use our microwave, and many other limitations to help prepare us for living in the jungle where this would be the norm. Thank you for your interest as we prepare to reach the unreached with the gospel of our Lord Jesus
Christ.
