Who We Are…

Ordinary people with an Extraordinary God

I (Darlene) was born and raised in Brazil as a missionary kid, and was saved around the age of six.  Though I was raised in a Christian home, many of the principles about my christian life did not become solidified until later in life.  I attended Cedarville University where I obtained a nursing degree with the thought of someday using it in missionary work.  It was not until we were attending New Tribes Bible Institute (NTBI), that we made the final decisions to enter career missions.

I (David) unlike Darlene was born in a home that did not serve the Lord Jesus Christ.  Just like the people of Cambodia, we lived in darkness.  My life was chaotic and consumed by sin.  I was confused.  It was not until the age of twenty four that the gospel message was preached to me.  A life of rebellion turned into dependance through belief in one promise.  Once a believer, I had a strong desire to find out what God was doing around the world.  However, I found myself at our home church serving in the youth department.  Even though I loved working with those teens, I wanted to grow more in my understanding of God’s character and His desire for all people and nations to know Him.

Following Bible school, we spent the next 2 years finishing our bachelors degree in intercultural ministry.  This adequately prepared us, to be part of a team that will be serving the people of Southeast Asia.  The courses provided us with thorough, specialized training that we will need to be properly equipped for our specific area of service.
