Yep. It’s today — Caleb’s 15th birthday. We have some special things planned, like swimming, miniature golf and eating out. Then in a few days David and Caleb are planning to camp near a huge spring and do some kayaking together.
Thank you for praying for Caleb. It has been a tough year for him. His stomach ailments remain without a clear diagnosis, although many serious things have been ruled out. His doctor has encouraged him to eat, even when he doesn’t feel like it.

Before dawn this morning, Katrina started the first phase of her trip to Papua New Guinea. The whole family was up at 3:00am and off to the airport.
Katrina’s first stop will be California. Her team will meet for several hours this afternoon for orientation. Then late tonight or early Friday morning, depending on your time zone, they will be heading over the Pacific Ocean.
God graciously supplied all of Katrina’s financial needs through many of you. …But all her needs still aren’t met. She needs you to remember to pray for her every day.

For the last 10 days, David, Katrina and Caleb have been in Missouri visiting David’s two brothers and participating in a missionary conference. During that time David was able to share in his home church and go on an overnight camping and canoe trip.

Caleb has a doctors appointment this afternoon to follow up on the May 10th endoscopy. The results should be in from lab tests done at that time and after.
Thanks to all of you who prayed for Caleb’s trip to Washington DC last week. Caleb felt really sick the day he arrived, but didn’t feel as bad the rest of the week. He was glad he was able to go and reports having a good time.
Please continue to pray for Caleb’s health. He continues to struggle with feeling really lousy most of the time.

Caleb had an upper endoscopy procedure done this morning as one more event in a long line of tests to try to find the source of his stomach pain.
He was unable to get up enough strength to make it into school this last Monday. Since his health problems started he has lost 15 lbs. He typically eats only once or twice a day, but drinks more often.

Thank you for all the notes, reassuring us of your concern and prayers for Savannah. The trip went very well, and we were thankful for a relatively cool day because the air-conditioner in our van is out again.
You will be encouraged, as we were, by viewing the X-rays on our Photos page. When you see change over time it is much harder to recognize just how much Savannah’s legs have improved.

Savannah has a check-up for her legs this afternoon in Tampa. The mobility she has with the “eight-plates” is amazing. The eight-plates serve as internal braces that never get in the way of her very active life.
Due to an inherited condition, Savannah’s growth is slower than average and her bones bow at the growth plates. People often misjudge her age, but they quickly discover she has a very sweet personality, sharp wit and an incredible vocabulary.

We’re getting the privilege of having two special little girls stay with us for the next 10 days. If you have followed our family updates for a few years, you may remember Trinity.
Trinity and her younger sister Hannah came on Sunday afternoon. David started them right out with a 3 hour hike in the woods. It actually wasn’t as much “hike” as it was “play.”

I came home from the hospital this morning overjoyed to be with my family again. But as the afternoon progressed, I had stronger chest pains that could not be ignored.
So, I’m in ER at Orlando Regional Medical Center and they will admit me in just a little while.
They did another EKG and a sonogram and will do a CT scan in a few minutes.
The pain might be associated with Pericarditis which deals with possible fluid buildup around the heart.
They have given me morphine to help control the pain for now as the doctors continue to figure this thing out.
Jenn is with me, but the kids are understandably upset.
I thank you personally for lifting me up before our Father.
Serving with you,
Patrick

An important feature of the NTM myMinistry websites is the ability to post articles, prayer requests and photo albums by sending an email.
This allows missionaries using the slowest connections over HF radio, satellite phone or cell phone to be able to update their own websites.
