IMG_4443_eWhen I first started thinking about going over to Interface I honestly wasn’t really sure if I actually wanted to make the move and go overseas by myself. I was a little nervous about it, but I was really excited too.

Cleaning our van out of all personal belongings.

Cleaning our van out of all personal belongings.

Well, the time for retiring our van is past and we are now looking for a dog food factory.

Here’s the deal. We made it to the NTM annual beach retreat, but when we tried to move it – it became apparent that all forward gears had failed.

David giving a presentation in the Philippines in January 2005

This week we were able to successfully retire a Dell Latitude D600 notebook that had been been generously given to us by one of our loyal ministry partners.

The D600 was by far the best notebook we have ever owned.  It came with a gold support 800 number that never had to be called.   – Absolutely incredible, considering it was used almost daily to publish web content for New Tribes missionaries around the world for five years.

myMinistry Blogs released

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

imag0087“myMinistry blogs” for NTM members have been released and several related email messages are coming in each minute.

Water was running out of our garage when David left for work this morning.  It looks like our date night will amount to a trip to fast-food on the way to the hardware store.  This will be the third gas water heater in three years.

David has a trip coming up soon.  Please pray for us.  Life is pretty stressful right now.

Where Katrina is right now

Saturday, August 1st, 2009

The Dinangat village where Katrina is visiting. As I write this, it is nearly dawn on Sunday morning in the Dinangat village where Katrina is visiting. We haven’t heard from her, but if the flight taking her in had not gone well we would have. NTM Aviation has an outstanding safety record.

The Dinangat people heard the Gospel just over a year ago, and two of the three New Tribes missionary families that are working among them are visiting friends, family and churches in their home countries. The family that is there and doing translation and literacy work with the people are Jeremiah and April Markley.

Caleb is 15 today

Friday, July 24th, 2009

A photo of Caleb taken by Katrina near the end of last school year.Yep. It’s today — Caleb’s 15th birthday.  We have some special things planned, like swimming, miniature golf and eating out.  Then in a few days David and Caleb are planning to camp near a huge spring and do some kayaking together.

Thank you for praying for Caleb.  It has been a tough year for him.  His stomach ailments remain without a clear diagnosis, although many serious things have been ruled out.  His doctor has encouraged him to eat, even when he doesn’t feel like it.
