Expanding the Reach of the Gospel in the Philippines
New Tribes Mission has been working in the Philippines since 1951 and has planted 169 tribal churches with 16,000 believers since then. Currently they are desiring to finish the work in the Philippines and are praying for missionaries to come and fulfill the need during the next few years so that we can have a ministry started in the last Philippine tribe in the next ten years.
The Philippines is made up of over 7,000 islands and many of the current tribal works and the future works are isolated from any outside transportation. Reaching the last tribe requires the help of small aircraft which enable missionaries to live where they could not otherwise live. Through aviation, missionaries can stay in their tribal homes and devote themselves more to study, culture, and teaching than to traveling and surviving.
Right now, there are two aviation centers, two airplanes, one helicopter and only two pilots for the whole country! The needs in the Philippines are urgent and we are doing all we can to speed our transition to the field. New Tribes Mission Aviation would like to see seven pilots on the field in the next few years in order to meet the needs of the missionaries there.
We want to be a part of the work that New Tribes Mission is doing in the Philippines and will do whatever it takes to enable the missionaries to finish the work. Our main responsibility will be to provide safe, efficient transportation for the missionaries along with medical flights, supply runs, mail drops, and any other needs they may have.
Our goal is not only to speed and expand the reach of the Gospel, but to encourage missionaries as they work in harsh conditions, poverty, and discouragement. God has given Bailey a heart and passion for people and she has a great desire be a friend and encourager to those who are struggling and to those who are celebrating. We want to be their “link” to the outside world and be there for them with whatever they need, whether it is physical or emotional. We look forward to playing a unique role in God’s unfolding drama of redemption.
