Every Wednesday at two our church opens it’s doors to a group of people living on the North Shore who are poor and needy. It is a great time to have a coffee and talk with people, I find it breaks up my day spent in the office and brings me back to my purpose here; To build relationships with people in the hope of sharing the gospel with them in a way they can clearly understand. This week I had the chance to lead the group in a short devotional on forgivness from Matthew 18:21-35. I love this passage and even as I read it there were a few chuckles in the crowd at the unmerciful servant (when he throttles his friend) and how like us he is.
The main point of this story is that God is the one who forgives and restores relationships. First our relationship with Him, in that He forgave our sins because of Jesus’ payment. Secondly in our relationships with others. How do we react when we are wronged? In light of God’s forgiveness our wrongs seem so petty. Afterall, is money or pride really worth destroying our relationships with others?
I always appreciate the honest responses we get from the discussion time. God is definatly working as he is challenging us in this area of forgivness.

Two Sundays ago Megan and I had an opportunity to share our vision for the coming year. I (Andrew) will be working at the church as a missions intern and Megan will be working as well as looking after Kaden. But more than that we are excited to be building our support team for when we are overseas. It is our priviledge to live out God’s heart of mission and invite others along on the journey.
We have already been so encouraged by the people whom God has raised up to support us. We cannot do this on our own and as God calls us out to depend on Him, we also get to experience the support of the body of Christ.
“But speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.”
Eph 4:15-16
We are looking forward to what God will do in this coming year!

Most people when being introduced to New Tribes Mission would watch a video called ee-taow! It followed the story of a tribe being led through the chronological teaching. It was so good and exposed many to God’s heart for unreached people groups including myself.
I posted a link to a new video released by NTM. It is about ten minutes long and I would encourage you to take the time to sit down and watch it. Seek the Lord in how you might be a part of expanding the reach of the gospel.

Andrew and I have gotten use to being co-workers in the context of New Tribes Mission, but for this next month I will be working at North Shore Alliance with him in the administrative department. We are so thankful to be able to spend this time with our church family, and that we have opportunity to work at our church and spend time serving and getting to know everyone better!
