My Chains are Gone . . .

A boy who is waiting for missionaries to learn his language so that he can hear about Jesus.

What a glorious thing to be able to say, “My chains are gone, I’ve been set free, my God, my Savior has ransomed me. And like a flood His mercy reigns, unending love, amazing grace.” These are some of the lyrics from Chris Tomlin’s song Amazing Grace My Chains are Gone, and as I sing them my heart swells with joy that my Redeemer paid the price for my life with His life and has set me free.

At the same time though my heart breaks for I know that there are many who cannot sing of the redemption and freedom that Christ brings. They are still living in bondage as slaves to sin, they do not know, they cannot testify of the Savior’s love. They cannot sing the line before that says, “I once was lost, but now I’m found was blind, but now I see”.

Will you join me in prayer for those who do not know the Lord Jesus Christ, and seek to expand the reach of the gospel wherever you live?

"Ask God to break your heart
for the things that break His heart."
