About
Our ministry…
…is about helping you.
That’s right! Our new ministry is not just about helping tribal church planters to more effectivly fulfill their ministry, it’s about helping you to more effectivly fulfill you’re part in their ministry.
- We help you who pray to know about current prayer needs.
- We help you who give to be aware of current financial needs.
- We help you who encourage to connect with those who need encouragement.
- We help you to Expand the Reach of the Gospel through your connection with NTM.
How we will do that:
Website- For the first couple of months, I will need to spend quite a bit of time with the web team. I will be learning how to post news and prayer requests to the NTM website; helping families set up their own personalized section of the site- so their friends and supporters can get the latest news, prayer requests, and photos; and doing security checking of content posted to the site (for the safety of families in high-risk locations). That would not be my primary ministry, but they need to have someone who can cover for the web guys when they are traveling. Sarah will actually be doing some of this from home as well.
Photos- One of my main responsibilities will be collecting and databasing digital photographs from all of NTM’s ministry locations. That database will then be accessible by all of our department, missionaries, and via keyword searching on the web. I might also need to help coworkers to find photos to be used for brochures, the NTM@work magazine, and web articles.
Video- I will be making weekly videos of Executive Committee meetings to be uploaded to the NTM members site, to help maintain unity and general awareness of what’s happening throughout the mission. I will also be involved in producing other videos for promotional and/or training purposes. And as time permits, I would work on creating a video clip database similar to the photo one.
Themed Materials- I will be helping with the creation of materials for our missionary families to use in their own communications. This would include brochures, power-point templates, prayer cards, contact cards, kiosk videos, and much more. The idea is to not only help those individuals who need help with creating those things, but also to unify the look and message of all our materials and presentations. This helps to tie their personal materials into the NTM materials and thereby creates a stronger connection between missionary and mission in the minds of viewers.
Satellite Communications- I will be working toward my vision of getting satellite broadband communication abilities in every one of our ministry locations around the world. Every family serving in every tribe can then have reliable, instant communications with their team-members, language and translation consultants, field leadership, online medical and exegetical references, family, friends, prayer supporters, and partner churches. This will create a ton of other cool possibilities. Imagine sitting in church on Sunday morning and watching a live video update from a missionary family on the other side of the world, or watching a tribal worship service or baptism live as it happens.
Indonesia- I am actually still doing quite a bit of data/media/comm projects and tasks for Indonesia. Within a year, though, I should be able to pass most of that on to others.
