Mexico (August 7th, 2007): A two-week workshop for Bible translators was a good way for Jana Price to get a feel for her new ministry in Mexico. Jana, experienced in translation and in helping other missionaries with translation in Venezuela, will soon begin serving in Mexico. Pray for the Prices’ transition. Puinave tribe, Colombia (June 14th, 2007): Three Puinave men went home encouraged after helping missionaries Larry and Sarah Richardson translate Scripture into the Puinave language. The team made great strides in making God’s Word clearly understood in the Puinave language. Please pray for a settled conviction in the hearts of the Puinave men to dedicate themselves to this work until it is complete. Pray too that God will provide all they need in order to do it. Indonesia (May 2nd, 2007): Three missionary helicopter pilots are preparing to go to Indonesia to help missionary teams plant tribal churches in mountain villages. Pray that the men and their families will arrive safely and rapidly become fluent in Indonesian. Find out more -- read the story >>

 

Bolivia (October 19th, 2006): Missionary pilot Dwayne Block and his wife, Sharon, are trying to settle into a new ministry after coming to Bolivia from Venezuela, but Dwayne needs Bolivian licenses to fly and maintain aircraft. Puinave tribe, Colombia (June 28th, 2006): Puinave church leaders want to help get the New Testament completed in their language. Missionaries Larry and Sarah Richardson and Tim and Bunny Cain are making a transition in their ministry to work with a former Puinave translation co-worker. Find out more -- read the story >>

 

Mozambique (May 18th, 2006): Pray for Michael and Jessica Richardson, who have seen the door closed on their ministry among the Shirianas of Venezuela and Brazil, and now must adjust to ministry in a new continent, new culture and new language in Mozambique. Find out more -- read the story >>

 

Venezuela (April 20th, 2006): New Tribes Mission of Venezuela continues to await a Supreme Court decision on whether to annul a resolution that bars the mission from indigenous communities. Pray for a favorable ruling, and please pray fervently that whatever the ruling, God will continue to work mightily among the tribal people of Venezuela. Find out more -- read the story >>

 

Venezuela (February 20th, 2006): Several media articles have created confusion about the situation in Venezuela. Venezuela (February 3rd, 2006): The Supreme Court of Venezuela decided yesterday that the effects of the resolution to remove missionaries from tribal areas will remain. Venezuela (January 31st, 2006): A two-week plan for relocating missionaries in Venezuela is under way. NTM began moving missionaries out of tribal areas Friday in compliance with a resolution that went into effect Nov. 14. Pray for safe flights and that God will give the missionaries emotional and physical strength during the transition. Find out more -- read the story >>

 

Yanomami tribe, Venezuela (January 19th, 2006): Five Yanomami believers recently responded when church leaders brought up the subject of baptism. Their baptism ushered in a new era in their church history – Yanomamis baptizing Yanomamis. Pray for the growth of the church during these days of challenge in Venezuela. Venezuela (January 17th, 2006): As the deadline for an exit from tribal areas approaches, missionaries wait for Venezuela’s Supreme Court to respond to a petition filed Dec. 6. The petition asks for a stay on the effects of the resolution that gave missionaries 90 days to move out of tribal areas. If no word is received prior to late January, leaders will have to begin relocating ministry teams. Please pray for a wise and speedy Court decision.

 

Venezuela (December 19th, 2005): Just as papers were to expire for an NTM aircraft in Venezuela, the mission received approval to fly it. NTM Venezuela members see the approval as proof that God is directing in spite of the trying circumstances. Yanomami tribe, Venezuela (December 16th, 2005): Scripture comes to life for Yanomami believer Samuelito as he translates Matthew with missionary Marg Jank and the translation team. Pray that Marg’s Yanomami co-workers will continue growing in the Lord and that they will produce a clear and accurate translation of Matthew. Find out more -- read the story >>

 

Venezuela (December 14th, 2005): Missionaries are making many decisions while they await the judgment of the court concerning NTM’s status in Venezuela. Patching or replacing the roof on the hangar is one of those decisions. The roof is rusting through and brackets are falling off. Pray that the missionaries will be unified as they seek God’s wisdom for various projects and strategies.

 

Venezuela (December 8th, 2005): Members of the press and national pastors were at the courthouse when NTM Venezuela leaders and their legal representative Dr. Andrade filed papers to annul the resolution of Nov. 14, which gave NTM 90 days to leave tribal areas. Pray that the case will be accepted for consideration and that the process will move smoothly and quickly. Find out more -- read the story >>

 

Venezuela (December 6th, 2005): NTM Venezuela leaders will accompany their legal representative, Dr. Andrade, to Caracas today to submit documents seeking to annul the resolution that gave missionaries 90 days to leave tribal areas. Venezuela (November 16th, 2005): A decree was officially published Monday giving NTM missionaries 90 days to leave tribal areas in Venezuela. Please pray that a process of appeal will proceed swiftly and smoothly. And pray that missionaries will stay focused on their ministries as they face this new challenge. Venezuela (November 15th, 2005): The registration for one of NTM Aviation’s planes will expire in two weeks. The renewal looks doubtful at this time. If this plane becomes unusable, it will leave only one plane to serve the needs of our missionaries. Please pray.

 

Venezuela (November 11th, 2005): Missionaries and Venezuelan pastors came out of a meeting much encouraged Monday after listening to testimonies of tribal leaders.
