The Lolo people of Mozambique are listening to evangelistic teaching lessons and many clearly understand what they're hearing.
Missionary Matt Zook reviewed the ten lessons he has taught and the people were able to explain what happened and draw correct conclusions on the meaning of the lessons.
He began teaching in July and this week reviewed the lessons on the fall of Lucifer and the fall of man. The Lolos are absorbing these truths. Matt is teaching that Creator God owns and rules the world.
He handed out MP3 players and the people gathered together in small groups to listen to the lessons in review. The Lolos are hearing the consequences of man's fall and that Satan is a deceiver who still deceives us today. Matt reiterated during his review that God did not give them a list of things to do to be saved.
"With my group of six men this week," wrote Matt, "we studied the Tabernacle and the sacrificial system that was God's way of covering sins; the unbelief of the Israelites to take the land of Canaan; and the bronze serpent. Praise God the lights are continuing to come on for these guys."
With all the stories in God's Word, how do you choose which ones to teach about? How do you make sure they clearly relate the truth, when viewed through a different cultural grid? How do you teach clearly, and make sure that what you are teaching is being understood?
