Something amazing happened last month as missionary Joey Tartaglia worked with David, a Mibu man, on Bible lessons for the Mibu people of Papua New Guinea.
David's eyes lit up. A smile spread across his face and he said, "God said that if I believe His Word I will go to Heaven and be with Him when I die! I am going to Heaven when I die, and I am so, so happy."
Since that time, more than 20 other Mibus have placed their faith in Christ as Joey and his co-worker, Chris Walker, have taught.
How do you clearly present the Gospel among people who have never heard of Jesus -- or worse, who have heard bits and pieces and mixed them in with their own beliefs? That's a key part of New Tribes Mission's specialized training for planting tribal churches.
And right now NTM is expanding that training so the reach of the Gospel can expand to many more tribes. Thank you for praying with us for this expansion.
Please pray for the curriculum team as they work through scheduling, guidelines for modules, learning objective statements and more. This groundwork is necessary so each class works together to effectively and efficiently train people for the task ahead. Pray for clear thinking, endurance and God's wisdom.
* Pray for flexibility for Steve Marsh and Dave Mough as they work on scheduling.
* Pray for more teachers for the modules, especially in church planting.
* Pray for wisdom regarding the classroom space that will be needed, and for the timing, construction and funding of that space
Thank you for continuing to pray about the sale of property. There are currently prospects for the sale of the properties in Durant, Mississippi, and Baker, Oregon. Pray that these work out and provide much-needed funds for construction.
Pray for the construction team as they endeavor to be as economical as possible without sacrificing quality. The team continues to focus on housing, which is vital for the students who are slated to start classes this August.
