People from the Badiaranke tribe of Senegal are learning to read their own language.
Not long ago, there wasn't anything written in their language.
But using skills he learned in NTM's missionary training program, Dan Cook learned Badiaranke, developed an alphabet, and started preparing materials to teach the Badiarankes to read. He did that because he's in Senegal to plant a church, and the Badiaranke believers will need to be able to read the Bible in their own language.
There are thousands of other people groups like the Badiarankes around the world -- people with an unwritten language who have no access to the Gospel. That's why New Tribes Mission is expanding its training program -- to help expand the reach of the Gospel to every tribe. Thank you for your partnership in this goal!
With the new Missionary Training Center course set to begin in August, things are coming down to the wire. Pray especially for funds for and construction of student housing. Two more student four-plexes are needed by the end of July.
Work began this week on preparing the site for another staff duplex. Pray that needed staff housing will be completed in time.
Please pray also as we seek permits for changes to the existing chapel and dining hall, which are needed to provide adequate classroom space in the fall.
