"I'm very worried."
The aging Ngain man slowly shook his head from side to side. He had heard that the Word of God had come to the Mibus, and he thought about visiting them so he could learn what God wanted him to know. But he understood only a few words of their language. "Some day, someone may bring this message to my people so we too can understand."
"But," he wondered, "what if I die before then? What will happen to me?"
It's a question shared by countless people across the globe. "What will happen to me when I die?" Tragically, for this man -- and millions among the unreached peoples of Papua New Guinea and elsewhere -- the answer is still out of reach.
In fact, more than 100 people groups have asked New Tribes Mission for help. They have a desperate desire to learn the message of God's Word.
But we don't yet have the people to send. The challenge we face today is in training more people to meet the urgent demand for missionary teams.
The NTM Missionary Training Center in central Missouri is operating at capacity with 150 missionary candidates and their families. The center expansion project will increase that capacity to 250 -- that's an additional 100 missionaries who have an urgent desire to complete their training and go to the mission field.
Imagine this: Students eager to learn, to grow, to train and to go! But we do not have the room.
Right now the urgent priority is to accommodate these new candidates.
So we're going to construct a planned all-purpose building that will provide classrooms, much needed dining facilities, and a gym/meeting center for all-campus worship and training times -- much like the all-purpose centers at many churches.
This building will provide a bridge to the future expansion of the campus and the permanent classrooms we need.
We want to begin construction this spring … and complete this building no later than June 2011, just in time for the NTM Enrichment Conference that will draw hundreds of missionaries and candidates.
Will you please join the entire NTM family in prayer? Together we're asking God to work in miraculous ways. The Center expansion must be completed to house and train missionary candidates eager to serve.
And please consider this opportunity for giving that can make a profound difference in meeting a substantial and strategic need. You are making it possible to train missionary candidates who are eager to take God's Word to those who long to hear.
