LITERACY CLASSES HAVE BEGUN

The BIG NEWS this week is a literacy course has begun. The people have talked about starting literacy since January. This past Monday that talk became reality.

Many of the boys, ages 12-15, and several ladies stayed after the Bible teaching for literacy. They are meeting every day in the mornings.

Okwep is overseeing the school and making sure they stay on task and take breaks.

Saisu is the main teacher and four or five of the young adult men are assisting him. His plan is to teach the young men to be teachers, hoping that they can teach the course next time.

We cannot tell you how excited we are to see, not only the literacy teaching, but also Saisu passing on what he knows to young men who will come behind and continue that work.

Mese, Sokwawe, and Maenae and several of the ladies have taken the course before, but they weren't able to get it.  They are willing to try again because they really want to be able to read God’s Word.

• PLEASE PRAY that these ladies will be successful in learning to read.

Danielle is also hoping to assist those ladies as she is able. Attending a class five mornings a week really cuts into the time when these ladies would be finding or preparing their food.

• Pray that God would provide abundantly for them during this time of teaching.

Teaching Acts continues, only a little slower, with just us to do the teaching. This Friday we took the day off, and we are trying to rest and get our feet back under us. Danielle has been feeling very tired and several of our boys have had nasty colds. We are hoping to continue teaching as normal on Monday. Thanks for praying.
