Writing lessons is high on my to-do list. We have gotten behind in writing lessons.
I just finished teaching Acts, Lesson 10, only a day after I had finished writing and checking it with a language helper.
Before the Church Planting consultants came in, Jason and I had determined that I would write Lesson 12 for Acts and that Jason would finish up with the rest of them, Lessons 13-15. The consultants’ advice cemented that decision, and plans were made for me to begin writing the Romans lessons while Jason finished writing the Acts lessons.
Now that Jason and Shannon have left the village for medical reasons, the crunch is back on me to finish developing the Acts lessons.
Tomorrow, I will begin teaching Lesson 11. Jason had written that one – it is the last completed lesson. I was working on Lesson 12, and Jason had started Lesson 13. Both lessons need to be completed, and then Lessons 14 and 15 need to be written.
Getting these lessons written during the next couple of weeks will be challenging. I probably will have to slow down the teaching from three times a week to two, but my plan is to finish Acts teaching in the next few weeks.
Our teaching times are still attended by approximately 100 people (kids included). The people are so excited as they learn of how the Gospel spread out among the Gentiles, even to Lystra and Derbe, where the people so much like themselves worshiped false idols and had their own language that Paul and Barnabas didn’t know.
Pray for wisdom and strength as I write the rest of the Acts lessons and teach them.
Pray that the Siawi people to continue to desire to learn from God’s Word.
