Background: Several weeks ago, Sabien threatened to disrupt the Bible teaching because some who were attending had shamed him by accusing him of being a sorcerer. He demanded a K200 payment and shaking of hands from those people to buy his shame. We had to cancel the teaching for several sessions because of his threats. Update: Last Tuesday a court was held to settle the dispute. As far as I understand, payment was made and hands were shook. Culturally, this should end that disagreement. Sabien had said that this is what was preventing him from coming to hear the teaching, but he hasn’t come yet even though the dispute was settled. Teaching continued last week with no incidents, and we plan to continue teaching until we leave for our annual missionary conference and a bit of a break after that. For the most part things are back to normal. However, there are some people from our own village who have still not shaken hands with Sabien, so there is still the possibility for things to get out of hand. - Keep praying for the peace to continue as we teach God’s Word.
