Daily Scripture

"And my tongue shall speak of Your righteousness and of Your praise all the day long."

Psalm 35:28

WHAT’S NEXT?

July 23, 2007

After several year’s absence, we moved back among the Siawi in May 2007. Since then, we’ve been reestablishing relationships and getting back fluency in the language.

As part of this process, Tom began reading from the book of Acts each morning in the village. Through listening to Acts, the Siawi believers have gotten excited about their new life in Christ.

Reading through Acts has been a tremendous language review for Tom. The Siawis had many questions about Jewish and Roman customs. Tom has had to re-tell and explain the story – which was a great stretch of his language ability. He finished reading through Acts this past Thursday.

What’s next? Tom is beginning to work on lessons which focus on how the Old Testament points to the Messiah. In NTM’s teaching program, this is called Phase 2. (Phase 1 was the evangelism phase which was taught to the Siawi before we had to leave for medical furlough.)

  • Pray for wisdom as Tom prepares lessons.
  • Pray for the Siawi to understand as they hear the truths from God’s Word.
