Missionaries Randy and Laurie Steel returned to Paraguay this month and are preparing to resume their ministry along with some added duties.
The Steels were involved in teaching Spanish to new missionaries and hosting the mission guest home. They will now also be involved in mobilization, challenging local Paraguayan pastors and churches to be more involved in tribal evangelism.
Randy will be speaking in local churches and meeting with pastors as well as entertaining folks in their home, presenting the need for tribal people to hear the Gospel. He will also aid missionaries in obtaining visas, passports, immigration forms and all the various paperwork involved in living in another country.
Laurie is enjoying reacquainting herself with everyday things like shopping and gardening that can be a challenge when speaking in a second language.
"It's been fun getting back to the local vegetable market," Laurie wrote. "I bought some pineapples last week and a huge head of cauliflower today. Before we left I planted some seeds in our back yard from a beautiful papaya and now my trees are full grown and producing big fruit."
Pray for Randy and Laurie as they settle back into their home and assume new ministry duties. Pray that they will be a blessing and encouragement to newly arrived missionaries.
