Psalm 35:28

PETRA PUTS HER FAITH IN THE ROCK

Petra is now a child of God.

June 24, 2008

by Brian Johnson

"I believe! Thank you, God!"

The words flowed excitedly from Petra, an elderly Western Tarahumara lady. Missionary Sharon Wingo has been teaching Petra evangelistic Bible lessons daily, and the woman has chosen to put her faith in Christ.

One of her relatives, Valentin, is a former shaman who came to Christ last year along with his wife Cuka. Petra also has other believers in her family, and she was drawn to Christ by the example of their lives.

Toribio is a new Christian and is the son of Valentin and Cuka. He is still having problems with his arm that was badly injured before he was saved. His brother Nacho is also a believer and is helping him cope with the many physical activities necessary for life in their area.

Praise God that Petra is now His child. Pray for healing for Toribio's arm.
