This summer, months of traveling over bad roads, building houses and, above all, building relationships is expected to bear fruit.
And this is just the beginning.
Missionaries Barry Wingo and Andrew Ferguson and their families expect to soon move into homes they've been building in a tribal village. This will allow them to more effectively learn the culture and language of the Southern Tepehuan people, which is vital to the long-term goal of planting a church among them.
Three times each month, Missionaries Barry Wingo and Andrew Ferguson have been driving a truck full of supplies and equipment to the mountain village -- a 12-hour trip when all goes well. Then they have worked on the houses.
With that behind them, their big concern now is the condition of the roads to the village.
"The roads were really bad before all the rain started, so now they're even worse," Barry wrote. "I'm considering tire chains."
Please pray for an uneventful trip to the village. Pray that the door stays open for them to move in and minister there; the Southern Tepehuans are very leery of outsiders, and it has taken years for the Wingos and Fergusons to build relationships to the point that they are allowed to move in.
Pray also that the airstrip in the village will be repaired soon, so travel and bringing in supplies will be quicker and easier.
