Two Karen men in Thailand, one a believer and one not, died within an hour of each other Saturday, one expected and one not.
Family and other believers knew that Mo Bu’s death was imminent, but they know that he is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus, reunited with his wife and other Karen believers.
On Sunday, the believers gathered at the home of Mo Bu’s son, Jo, for a time of singing, reading, sharing from God’s Word and prayer. Friends, relatives and neighbors were present and in the evening they gathered for a big meal.
An hour after Mo Bu died, another elderly Karen man died just down the road. He was never interested in hearing about God and actually opposed the teaching when another family in his village was being taught. His funeral was quite different, with no demonstration of hope.
Please continue to pray that Jo and his family and the other believers will be a testimony of hope to those who have yet to believe the Gospel. It is expected that Jo will be blamed for anything negative that happens in the community since his family didn’t do the traditional spirit rituals after his father died. |
