TEAM TRANSLATION WORKSHOP (June 9, 2007)

Thank God for safe travels

  • April trip to Florida for annual team meetings.
  • May trip to Paraguay for Team Translation Workshop

Please pray for

  • Translation of 12 days of workshop material into Spanish. It's a LOT of work.
  • For financial support for family and ministry expenses.

Update on prior requests:

  • We thank God for providing for the repairs on our Explorer.

CAR "ISSUES" (January 13, 2007)

We’re grateful for a safe 3,000 mile trip to California and back in our Explorer. We were even able to tie a very nice mattress (thank you, Coots family) on the rack and bring it from Phoenix, Jed Clampett-style. We’re ALSO thankful that it wasn’t until we had been home for a week that the heater core broke and started leaking antifreeze in our driveway. Between that repair and a major brake job and some servicing that was due, we’re looking to the Lord for $1,700 to cover the shop bill.

Thank you for praying with us. God has always proven himself faithful to meet our needs and we’re learning not to panic, but just to trust Him.

DONATIONS RECEIVED FOR PRAYER BULLETIN (January 13, 2007)

Thank you for praying for this need.

Enough donations have been received for five more months of compensation for our Colombian translator to translate the Daily Prayer Bulletin and articles into Spanish.

We have heard from missionaries who are working to awaken interest in missions in Mexican evangelical churches that these bulletins and articles have been valuable resources in challenging folks to respond to the Great Commission.

UNITED STATES (November 2, 2006)

December will be the last month we can pay our Colombian translator for putting out the NTM Daily Prayer Bulletin in Spanish. The grant for designated for this purpose has been used up. Please join us in asking God to lead us to a solution. Humanly speaking, it seems that our three alternatives are either  1) to take it on ourselves, 2) or to find another volunteer, or 3) for God to supply the funds to continue paying a translator. But the Lord may have another plan.

ANSWERS TO PRAYER (August 25, 2006)

Thank you for praying! You'll be encouraged to learn how  God answered.

  • Our daughter Esther had a great trip with her church team to the Czech Republic. God supplied the financial support she needed, which was great. But we were even more touched to hear how attached she became to the Czech kids in her class. It's been hard for her to adjust to being back in the States. Her heart is over there.
  • We asked prayer for housing for our partners, the Gustafsons, who live in Atlanta. God provided them with a lovely home which they were able to buy with the help of a charitable organization! It's an amazing story. If you want to hear more, drop us a note.
  • If you have followed our news items, you'll know that today, August 25th, we finished the Literacy Manual project and sent it to our mission offices for printing and distribution. Yes! What a blessing!
  • We are clear to proceed with the Spanish dubbing of the Taliabo video, an inspiring story of God's work in an Indonesian tribe. Pray for good progress. We'd like to finish it by the end of the year.

MEXICO (June 13, 2006)
Please pray as Steve learns to use the InDesign program to put together the Spanish version of the NTM Literacy Manual. This resource is in high demand on our Latin American fields. We have the text and the graphics, we only need to get through the tedious job of formatting it. Praise God for providing this powerful program.

MEXICO (June 13, 2006)
Please pray for our SLR partners, Duff and Sharon Gustafson, who in July will need to find new housing in Atlanta. They need to stay in that area for a variety of reasons, a key one being Sharon's health. They are looking to the Lord to buy, if possible. Considering their situation, it will take a special provision by God to make that happen.

MEXICO (June 13, 2006)

In the light of the amount of material that our Latin American partners need in Spanish, our two-family team is quite shorthanded. We often think of what a blessing it would be to have administrative help that would free us up to focus on the tasks we are particularly equipped to do. Our ministry and work situation are unique so God would need to supply a very flexible and creative bilingual person who would be willing to adapt. Thank you for praying.

MEXICO (June 13, 2006)

As part of our daughter Esther's preparation for a missionary career with NTM, she is spending a year with Atascadero Bible Church, which is her home church. She is working in their office and is involved in their prospective missionary discipleship program. One of her tasks is to help coordinate a team going to the Czech Republic in August to run an evangelistic English-learning camp. Pray that God will raise up the financial support she needs for that trip and that she would be a blessing to the team and to the Czech people.

LATEST NTM PRAYER REQUESTS

Inanbimali tribe, Papua New Guinea (December 1, 2008)
Nine believers stood in the face of opposition this week and were baptized. Please pray that the faith and strength they showed will encourage other believers and be a testimony to unbelievers. Find out more -- read the story >>

Kuna tribe, Panama (December 1, 2008)
Four Kuna believers traveled over muddy, difficult trails to be missionaries to their own people in a village that once refused missionaries. There are now 14 new adult believers. One couple reported teaching evangelistic Bible lessons to a group of more than 100 children. Praise God for His work and pray for a continuing ministry in this village.

Daily Scripture

"I will give You thanks in the great assembly; I wil praise You among many people."
