"A is for angel food cake," wrote missionary Nara Meissner, learning culture and language in Mexico with her husband, Torre. "The first week of language classes is over and we officially feel as if we are in kindergarten all over again."
This is the beginning of ministry in an area -- learning how to communicate in the national language.
"The next days were spent learning the alphabet, our numbers (Sesame Street only goes up to 10) and ended with colors," she wrote "You know you're new to a language when you get excited to recall what red is in Spanish and to point to the correct number on the board for the teacher.
"Everyone has to start somewhere!"
Please pray for the Meissners to keep up the good humor and to continue to learn well as they serve in Mexico.
